Nick Saban - Defensive Back EDDs
"I think one of the biggest issues with DBs that we get when they come here, is they don't have very good footwork. You can't really play DB if your feet are ever outside your shoulders. You can't redirect, you got to step inside yourself, take 3 steps to go nowhere, you end up chasing, you can't stay in front of people, you can't get them cutoff. So most of the drills that we do are sort of geared towards footwork."

On this day in 1898, Theodore Roosevelt led the Rough Riders up Kettle Hill during the Battle of San Juan Heights, calling it "the great day of my life."
The charge made him a national hero and helped launch the political career that carried him to the presidency. 🧵

A loyal assistant coach is one of the most valuable things in a program.
They keep the locker room steady.
They reinforce standards.
They make the head coach better.
Behind every strong program…
there’s usually a strong coaching staff.

I'm increasingly convinced that showing up every single day with a good attitude puts you ahead of 95% of people. Not talent. Not connections. Not some masterclass you bought at 2am. Just being the person in the room who's reliable, positive, and ready to work. Most people can't sustain that for more than a few weeks. The ones who can become impossible to ignore.
