John Fetterman just asked the Silicon Valley Bank CEO if there should be work requirements for CEOs who crash banks and dear reader, I almost fell out of my chair.

Yeah, so I understand that in Illinois, where I'm moving in 6 days, there are Trumpers. However, it has banned assault weapons. It hasn't banned abortions or books. It's a Blue state, and I'm moving to a Blue city. My neighbors won't all be white Bible thumpers. I'll take it

What if we made firearm/firearm-related advertising incredibly restrictive? We can start with the anti cigarette advertising rules as a starting point.

In honor of stupid Christians pretending that women's leggings are too revealing, each day I will be posting a photo of a man, exercising in almost nothing, in public spaces. Pt. 1:

I keep seeing these takes about Irish people “not counting” as white in U.S. history and honestly, there is nothing historical about such a claim. The Irish were included in the ‘white’ column of every colonial census going back to Stapleton’s Leeward Islands survey in the 1670s.

A few personal notes: I was just at a NASA team meeting for 3 days in DC. The scientific findings are so fucked up. Experts on tropical rainforests told me privately that they think the Amazon has already passed its tipping point. Let that sink in. The world needs to know

I can see the nonsense and I don’t even need my math minor to know that.
Statistician here. ⚠️WARNING. This is NOT an accurate use of probability theory ⚠️ We can actually explain this one without any math so read on...

Heads up to Black women: If you see a shirt on your TL with the words "Mammies for Trans Rights", please know that "mammy" is simply the Irish word for "mommy." The shirt was designed by Irish women for Irish women. Please don't let transphobes weaponize it or you.
First batch of #MammiesForTransRights T-shirts just arrived & will be making their way to the glorious mammies that love & support their trans kids, partners, friends, family, and colleagues. #translivesmatter #TransRightsAreHumanRights @Mams4Trans @TransEqTogether

The most dishonest thing neoliberals tried to teach my generation was that ignoring bullies makes them go away.

I stopped feeling mad during traffic years ago and I remember the moment. I was waiting at the emergency vet and realized I'd driven like shit to get my dying pet to the vet. I choose to believe that you were saving your pet.

President Biden is ripping apart Ron DeSantis in Selma, Alabama right now: “No matter how hard some try, we can’t just choose to learn what we *want* to know and not what we *should* know. We should learn everything— the good, the bad, the truth of who we are as a nation.”
