The Black Friday countdown is on! Get up to 60% OFF CapCut Pro and 40% OFF Ultra from October 20–30, exclusively on CapCut Desktop. πŸŽƒ A Halloween ad for a bakery can have all the right visuals: ghost-shaped cookies, purple frosting, and a pumpkin-filled backdrop. But without the right sound, the final video might not feel as immersive as you imagined. CapCut PC's audio editing tools help you adjust your soundtrack's levels so the music and other audio elements sit more comfortably together. Give those spooky sound effects room to shine without letting them overpower the rest of the video. The visuals catch their eyes. The sound helps set the mood. tinyurl.com/2v23rn22 #capcutpc #capcutmarketing #capcutsale #capcutblackfriday

Linus Torvalds used AI on the kernel this month, and the use that stood out wasn't writing code. It was understanding old code and testing it. The bug someone reported: confirmed. Plus 3 more, all sitting in that library since its first commit. In 2013. In his words, the code was "too obscure for me to follow", so he used LLM tools to make sense of it, then ran it through a test harness. Everyone is racing to generate more code. The guy who wrote Linux also pointed AI at checking the code that already exists. For web apps, that checking is what TestSprite does: it explores the running app, writes end-to-end tests and runs them in a real browser. What's the oldest bug you've ever found in your own code?πŸ‘‡

🚨 MIT just published the most comprehensive report, proving universities have no remaining reason to exist. A committee of professors and students spent five months studying what AI is doing to learning on campus. The findings are a warning, not a footnote. Study groups are disappearing. Office hours are emptying out. Problem sets and take-home exams no longer prove anything, because AI can produce a credible answer to almost any undergraduate assignment. The report has a name for what's happening to students: "cognitive surrender." Reaching for AI the instant something gets hard, before even trying to think it through. The numbers back it up: 46% of MIT undergrads use LLMs daily 90% say they're worried about their own overreliance More students now believe AI makes them replaceable than believe it makes them capable MIT's answer wasn't more surveillance. No AI detectors, no lockdown browsers. The committee called that path unreliable and said it just breeds distrust. Instead: oral exams, semester-long portfolios, in-person project work, a required social component in every subject. They're even floating rethinking grades entirely, since without a GPA to game, most of the incentive to cheat disappears. The most famous tech school on the planet just admitted the machines broke its teaching model. Its answer was more humans, not more software. (Paper link in comments)

This Black Friday deal is worth a look: save up to 60% on CapCut Desktop through Oct 30. Desktop Only! When you're creating a Halloween marketing video for a brand, inconsistent lighting across AI-generated shots can make the final edit feel disconnected. Intelligent Grading helps you batch-adjust color across clips, making it easier to build a more cohesive visual mood. It's a useful reminder that generating footage is only one part of making a campaign. The finishing touches on CapCut PC are what help the whole video feel like one piece. #capcutpc #capcutmarketing #capcutsale #capcutblackfriday tinyurl.com/2v23rn22
