A $50 billion Chinese AI startup just released a model that beats GPT-6 Astra on coding benchmarks. Most Americans have never heard its name. Moonshot AI released Kimi K3.1 Pro today October 24, 2026. It scored 65.7% on Terminal-Bench 4.0, the benchmark that tests coding agents on real-world tasks. GPT-6 Astra scored 58.2%. Claude Opus 5.5 scored 66.4%. Kimi K3.1 Pro sits between the two most powerful AI models on earth and costs a fraction of both. $2 per million input tokens. $10 per million output tokens. Claude Opus 5.5 charges $15/$75. GPT-6 Astra charges more. Kimi is 7-8x cheaper on input and 7.5x cheaper on output. The model is built on Kimi K3 the largest open-weight model ever released at 2.8 trillion parameters. Full model weights for K3.1 Pro will be open-sourced by November 4. Bloomberg called it “Moonshot’s first major upgrade since its own DeepSeek moment.” And most people in the West have never typed “kimi.ai” into a browser. Here’s everything about the AI model the US tech giants don’t want you to discover 🧵

A thief gets inside your Tesla. They have the key card. They press the brake. They try to shift into drive. The car doesn’t move. A 4-digit PIN screen appears on the touchscreen. Without the code, the car won’t shift into gear. The thief sits in a $50,000 car they can’t move. Your Tesla has a feature called PIN to Drive a secondary security layer that requires a personal 4-digit code before the car will drive, even if someone has the key card, the key fob, or the phone key. The valet who copied the key card can’t drive the car. The thief who stole the phone with the Tesla app can’t drive the car. The teenager who grabbed the spare key card from the kitchen drawer can’t drive the car. Without the PIN, the car is a locked vault on wheels. PIN to Drive takes 30 seconds to set up. Most Tesla owners have never enabled it. A Tesla service advisor who’s delivered over 2,000 Teslas and has seen every type of theft, break-in, and unauthorized use an owner can experience told his customer something during a routine service visit that changed how the customer thought about every feature on the car. “Every Tesla theft I’ve seen in 5 years could have been prevented by PIN to Drive. Every parking lot hit-and-run could have been documented by Sentry Mode. Every valet joy ride could have been blocked by Valet Mode. Every cold morning sitting in a freezing cabin could have been solved by Scheduled Departure. And every dog left in a hot car could have been kept safe by Dog Mode. The Tesla has 11 features that protect the car, protect the people inside it, and transform how the owner uses it every day. Most owners enable zero of them. They drive a $50,000 computer like a $30,000 car using the gas pedal and ignoring the operating system.” He showed them 11 Tesla features that transform the car from “I drive it and charge it” into the machine Tesla actually engineered. Here’s every hidden Tesla feature most owners miss 🧵

🚀 Most product ideas never make it past the planning stage. Not because they're bad ideas. Because turning ideas into polished interfaces usually requires designers, developers, and weeks of iteration. I tested @Skywork_ai Design to see if AI can change that.🧵👇
