AI Agents, APIs, and the Breaking of the Use Case Remember how APIs were once all over and free to use? Then corpos realized they could monetize them and control their use. The same thing, with a twist, is happening to AI Agents. In this case, sites are denying AI Agents access because sites want you to use their AI Agent. For instance, Amazon is denying access to outside AI agents because they want you to use their clunker Alexa. JP Morgan is now also denying agents access. I would expect most banks will follow suit. If AI agents can't access sites on behalf of the user (probably a good thing) because they are denied, then what is the purpose of all of this? The automation breaks. The purpose is no longer there. It's another dead use case. 🤷‍♂️

Shhhhhhh... Don't tell anyone but... There is no AI arms race with China. China is putting way more money into Robotics tech, Drone tech, and EV tech, while also making laws where humans are not allowed to be displaced from their jobs by AI. The AI they are making and putting out is all open source. So anyone in the world can use it for free (Something that all AI companies should be doing). All of the above is contrary to this insane story that we are in an arms race with China to reach AGI or ASI. Does no one bother to put 2 + 2 together anymore and everyone just believes their political masters? More people are reporting that some TV show seasons on Amazon Prime, now have individual episode's in various seasons that are paywalled so in order to watch the whole season, you have to buy an episode.
