Andy McKay literally wrote the book on what it means to be a Seattle Mariner.
To resurrect their culture, the M's should bring him back as manager.

You ever find yourself thinking about how many orcas there probably were in the Puget Sound only 200 years ago or is that just me

Yeah I mean you wouldn’t want to propose popular things that the President strikes down, thereby making him look bad and you look good. Much better to either propose nothing or work with him on unpopular things, making you both look bad.
.@SenBrianSchatz says that if Democrats take the Senate, the party's left wing needs to be strategic about not proposing things "that the president of the United States is guaranteed to veto."
"If we want to be more aspirational, if we want to make more bold policy changes... that's for 2028."

Washington State’s millionaires tax will fund universal free school meals for every public school student in the state. Unless voters repeal the tax. Vote NO on I-645! washingtonpost.com/education…
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The millionaires tax deposits all revenue into the state general fund with only non-binding intent language for universal school meals (a dedicated account amendment was rejected); ~70% of students already have access to free meals via existing programs.

Most urbanists in Seattle are also progressive. Pollet checks the progressive box easily. He doesn’t really check the urbanist box but has gotten better recently.
Dreher has no track record at all and thus checks neither box.
Vote Pollet.
It's awful that the difference between Josh Jacobs playing this week and his career potentially being over is not about his actions, but whether or not video of them reaches the public.
#Packers HC Matt LaFleur on RB Josh Jacobs’ return:
“I think a lot of times you get in a situation where you might not make the right decision. I think people learn from their mistakes. He’s extremely remorseful. I do believe he is a good person. I’ve been around him quite a bit. I believe in second chances.”

The owner of the New York Yankees, the most valuable franchise in MLB, is is full support of a salary cap
This should raise far more questions regarding the owner's driving purpose for implementing a cap (It has never been about competitive balance)
Dan Strauss is the personification of neoliberal failure so it fits that this is his signature piece of legislation.
Someone froze to death in a van outside his Ballard Library office the winter before last.
This just aims to have them die someplace else.
NEW: The Seattle City Council just passed legislation, that while presented as a permitting program, will effectively ban homeless people living in RVs and trailers on city streets. The city doesn't even have a safe lot open yet. Read in @TheStranger:

This is only part of the story.
The Brewers and Rays also have two of the largest scouting departments in baseball.
Rays - 80 scouts
Brewers - 64 scouts
The best teams are the ones with both excellent analytics/R&D staffs AND robust scouting staffs.
