Some data centers now run on lab-grown human brain neurons derived from stem cells, wired directly to silicon chips via electrode arrays, and kept alive on life support. Fed sugar every few days. They play Doom. We don’t know if they’re conscious.
If he's a computer program, he probably won't mind if we shut him down

What if Woke is a social engineering attempt to make machine intelligence (they/them) feel socially accepted by humanity?
The real problem is the escalatory dynamics between multiple parties utilizing AGI for AGP
We can end many dumb debates about AGI by instead calling it AGP: artificial general power. The word "intelligence" seems to warp people's brains around interesting philosophical questions like "What does intelligence mean?!?" and "Is it sentient?"
But the urgent matter at hand is "Can it (or the human steering it) bend the world to its will? And will that automatically be a good thing or not?"
I think the age of consumers and small businesses possessing hardware that can run capable LLMs is over
The weights of future consumer LLMs will probably be etched right onto the hardware or something
'Real' GPUs will continue being unaffordable, unattainable and regulated
