"The beauty of the (un)Conference model is that you discover new tools you’d never have known, hear from colleagues you’d never have heard from, and you can contribute your perspective without a stage." ~ @SamanthaVenia

This event was the absolute stuff, today. The conversation on burnout in particular was deeply-felt and true and full of wisdom (including this!)
My #1 takeaway from today's #Community Manager Unconference (@cmgr_unconf) was from the awesome "Burnout" discussion.
Have a "no" objective.
A specific, measurable, assignable, realistic and time-related (SMART) objective that you'll say "no" to stuff.

I'm attending the @cmgr_unconf unconference virtually today.
Of course, I will network with other community managers and learn from their community's successes and failures.

Many thanks to Jill Nicholson from @_TheMesa, @RobButler and @SamanthaVenia for their help to shape the mission statement for the next @cmgr_unconf:
"Bring community people together to galvanize successes and share failure to solve our challenges."
What do you think? 🙂

More good #cmgr conversations today, including:
1️⃣ What training or qualifications have you got,
2️⃣ Monetizing free communities without destroying the brand,
3️⃣ Things you wish you'd known as a newbie #cmgr,
4️⃣ Dealing with lack of engagement,
5️⃣ Free resources for cmgrs.
I run a monthly community manager (#cmgr) virtual meet up on the 4th Wednesday of each month, which is today at 0900 British Summer Time (BST).
It's run as a 'lean coffee' where the people who turn up decide what to talk about.
To join, message me for the @MicrosoftTeams link

I'm thinking 12 week from now for the next @cmgr_unconf.
How does mid-November work for you? :-)
Thanks again for sponsoring the first event - really appreciate it (-:
We love seeing ideas for building better communities come to life when community leaders get together. Thanks for leading the first #cmgr unconference @jaCattell and @cmgr_unconf. When's the next?
