And?? The last thing this country needs is a leader obsessed with popularity and chasing it like Rudd. We need leadership. #auspol teapawt.org/brigadierslog/status/8…

Meeting with @PeteHegseth on the sidelines of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting today, we discussed our shared security priorities in the Indo-Pacific and reaffirmed the progress happening right now in Western Australia under AUKUS.

BREAKING: Netanyahu says Iran has now restarted its nuclear program and intends to destroy Israel within a short time.
"Iran has restarted its nuclear program, and it wants to destroy us within a short time," Netanyahu said an hour ago.
IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has warned that resuming the war this close to Tuesday's election will force the vote to be postponed indefinitely.
Netanyahu said on Wednesday that toppling the Iranian regime is now his directive to the IDF and Mossad.
Jess. If only there was a way to work out years ago that Trump was a Russian stooge.....
It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel.
If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.
I can't believe I'm agreeing with Tony Abbott but here we are....
Is Australia ready for the war over Taiwan that Kevin Rudd has said has a one-in-three chance of happening within three years? The invasion that would almost certainly mean that all our exports to China stop, that all our imports from China stop, that our export income and our fuel supplies almost immediately dry up, and, quite possibly, that there are missile strikes on Australia itself against which we currently have almost no air defences whatsoever.
For at least five years now, Australian leaders have solemnly intoned that we face the worst strategic situation since the late 1930s, while taking almost no serious steps to deal with it.
A country without a credible plan for the worst potential disaster that could befall it, is sleepwalking through lotus land. This is the conversation that should have begun years ago but that must start now.

Since taking over the top job in July, Ben Carroll has worked hard to convince voters he is taking the government in a new direction. But less than two months out from the election, has he done enough? > bit.ly/4rD6Fl8

Do tougher job-search requirements help people find work?
We randomised almost 40,000 jobseekers to different requirements. Six months later, employment outcomes were virtually identical.
