Replying to @COUnfiltered
@COUnfiltered's post yesterday got me researching Prop 195, the Colorado ballot initiative still in the signature gathering phase that, if ultimately placed on the ballot and passed, would replace Colorado's flat 4.4% income tax with a graduated one with rates as high as 7.4%, 7.9%, and 8.4%.
Of course, since these higher rates don't kick in until incomes of $500,000 or more and many earning $100,000 or less will see a small cut, you know that proponents are going to sell this as a "stick it to the man / eat the rich" kinda deal.
However, as I suspected, Grok confirmed there is a legal pathway for them to ratchet that $500,000 floor on down to $100,000 as time goes on. The measure amounts to a crack in the shell of TABOR.
Are people really dumb enough to believe that the government is going to be satisfied with getting more money from only the very rich?
This is how all tax schemes start- hit the 1% first, then expand downward over time from there.

I’ll believe it when I see it. So far we’ve lots of exposure and zero accountability.
Every state and local election official is on notice – knowingly encouraging noncitizens to vote or conspiring to fraudulently register noncitizens is a federal crime. The @CivilRights Division is ready to help with compliance as American citizens deserve free and fair elections!
THIS is why your home and rent prices shot up. It’s always been about supply and demand.
Why should Americans have to work their butts off and save and build credit for a mortgage when we just give them to foreigners? This is so backwards…
I posted this a few days ago and it went viral:
"How the fuck were 30% of Haitians living in the US on the Temporary Protected Status program able to get mortgages that American citizens wouldn't qualify for?"
Since then, we have found out that there are special programs where H-1B visa holders to get mortgage. American credit histories not required. These people as well are "temporary" visitors.
How exactly does this help American taxpayers?
One more example of the swamp protecting their own. Our Congress needs to grow a spine and start holding people accountable. These dinosaurs need to step down. Install TERM LIMITS!!!
WTF 🚨
Maxine Waters has not showed up for work in (7) mo's and she's still collecting a chec
Raise your hand ✋️ if you want Speaker Johnson to expel her from congress for theft
She's stealing from the American people, by getting paid but doing your job
This ends now
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is false. Rep. Maxine Waters has not been absent for months and has been seen at work at the Capitol as recently as this week. Recent sightings:

Unpopular opinion here: I would love to privatize social security. Everything the government touches turns to crap.
Not only is a full SS payout a HORRIBLE ROI, but it is insolvent. It was never running out, it has been stolen from us by the very people we elect.
Remember when it was introduced and it was agreed that Congress could never borrow from it? That worked out exactly as we knew it would… 🙄
🚨 VICE PRESIDENT JD VANCE just exposed what the Democrat fraud party has caused:
"I am worried that if we don't stop sending Social Security checks to illegal immigrants, the people who paid into it for their entire lives are NEVER going to have access to that money!"
"That's a SCAM and it's totally unacceptable."
"So the most important thing we can do to ensure those benefits exist for the people who earned them is to make sure that the fraudsters don't get them that the American people do." 💯
McConnell should have retired decades ago. He’s been brain dead for a while. This recent bout just confirms it. He needs to step aside and let a competent person take his seat. I am so tired of the uniparty protecting their own.
This is an extraordinary development in the ongoing questions surrounding Senator Mitch McConnell’s health.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has taken the highly unusual step of formally sending a letter to Senator McConnell requesting that he update Kentuckians on his health and ability to continue serving in the United States Senate.
When a sitting governor publicly asks one of his own state’s senators to explain whether he is capable of fulfilling his duties, it’s a sign that concerns have grown well beyond social media speculation.
It’s also remarkable that a Democratic governor is the one demanding transparency while much of the Republican leadership has relied on brief public statements rather than providing clear, verifiable information that would settle the questions surrounding McConnell’s condition.
With the August 3 deadline under Kentucky law rapidly approaching, a date that could affect the process for filling any Senate vacancy, the need for transparency has never been greater. Kentuckians deserve to know whether their senator is able to carry out the responsibilities of the office they elected him to hold.
One question also remains unanswered regarding our national security: where is Elaine Chao and why has she been meeting with the CCP as McConnell is in the hospital?

Why is Mayor Mike Johnston so big on protecting the immigrant community? It’s very simple; the city would financially implode without them. And it’s all because of the schools.
Denver experienced population growth in recent years, yet DPS enrollment declined as families exited due to rising living costs, crime, taxes, and school policies including emphasis on DEI initiatives. The Biden-era border policies and subsequent migrant influx reversed this trend by adding approximately 25,000–30,000 students (roughly 30% of total DPS enrollment). These students consist of recent arrivals and their U.S.-born children in mixed-status households.
This influx generated substantial additional revenue through the state per-pupil funding formula and targeted support for English Language Learners, transportation, and newcomer programs. The migrant surge contributed hundreds of millions in added costs and funding across Denver metro school districts, with DPS receiving a significant portion that stabilized district budgets and enrollment.
Key Impacts
• Supported preservation of teacher positions, union dues, and contributions to the PERA pension system.
• Expanded funding and contracts for NGOs, Catholic Charities, and related service providers.
• Enabled progressive political priorities through demographic shifts and welfare expansion.
• Provided supplemental low-wage labor pools benefiting certain business sectors.
• Prompted voter-approved tax increases, including a $975 million bond in 2024 and consideration of a $44 million annual mill levy override in 2026, often framed around supporting all students.
The district has a documented history of complex financing. During Senator Michael Bennet’s tenure as superintendent, risky swap deals were used to address a large pension shortfall. More recently, DPS has employed lease-purchase agreements to secure hundreds of millions in off-the-books debt without direct voter approval.
The migrant wave provided a critical short-term enrollment and revenue buffer for DPS. However, it has not resolved underlying challenges and has shifted significant long-term costs onto Denver taxpayers. The current model is unsustainable.
I personally love the migrant community and Denver Public Schools. The community is vibrant, but the the politics behind it are not. The writing is on the wall: Federal money propping up this economy is gone. Time for plan B for all of Denver. @MikeJohnstonCO @dps_k12 #denver #copolitics

To all of our Colorado democrat representatives, I have been telling you daily that the key to lowering home/rent prices is to allow the deportations to happen. Yet you continue to push “affordable housing”. Here is the proof. 👀

Colorado, I swear this state has lost its damn mind. We’ve got three people advancing who represent everything that’s gone wrong here — corruption, incompetence, and radical ideology. And voters are acting like this is normal. It’s not normal. It’s a fucking disaster.
Let’s start with Phil Weiser, the slick political operator who’s been slithering through Colorado politics for years. He’s the one who protected Jena Griswold when she blew up the whole password scandal — instead of holding her accountable, he shielded her. He covered for her. He made sure she didn’t face consequences. And now he’s advancing again like he’s some kind of hero. Colorado is rewarding the same people who break the rules and hide the mess.
Then there’s Jena Griswold, who should’ve been facing serious consequences for that password incident. Instead, she got political protection. Instead, she got defended. Instead, she got elevated. And now she’s advancing again, like nothing ever happened. Colorado Democrats treat her like she’s untouchable. I hope they finally get her, because this state doesn’t need one more corrupt official skating by on political favors.
And now the newest problem — Melat Kiros, the Democrat Socialist who just advanced. She’s pushing an ideology that would tear Colorado apart. She wants to close prisons, defund police, make everything free, and somehow expects taxpayers to magically pay for it. She’s not just a Democrat — she’s a radical. She’s a socialist. She’s pushing ideas that would destroy the systems that keep this state functioning. And Colorado voters are cheering for her like she’s the future.
Colorado used to have a backbone. Now it votes for radicals, communists, and people who openly want to dismantle the institutions that keep us safe. I’m disappointed. I’m disgusted. And I’m sick of watching this state elevate people who will drag Colorado into a fucking mess.
@concernedforco @NickRogersBTL @mrosazza
This is everything wrong with the woke left. Laws were originally designed to protect the VICTIMS. Not the perpetrators.
CO democrats just elected AG Weiser as their governor nominee. Things are about to get a lot worse.
“I’ve been a victim of crime. And I didn’t feel like I was the victim. I felt like the two young boys who carjacked me almost at gunpoint….They were the victims. I was not. They were part of a system.”
Amanda Sandoval gets held at gunpoint by two young men trying to carjack her… and says she didn’t feel like the victim because they’re victims of the “system”.
This oppressor vs. oppressed brain rot is why victims get no justice and criminals get excuses.
Why the hell are we electing people who think like this?
