It’s funny how there’s a small slice of devs that try to cling on to their old identity so hard.
Just let go bro. You will never write code by hand again. AI is here to stay, like it or not.
The r/OpenSource subreddit has officially banned anything using AI. In any way. Violators will be permanently banned.
Which means… r/OpenSource will ban anyone submitting anything that, in any way, involves… the Linux kernel.

I’m so happy I just used my last reset today.
I’m tired of this reset economy, can’t wait to move to Claude.
You can skip this if you sign up to play store with your company info btw
- Me: Finally ready to launch my first personal Android app
- Google: Cool, now find 12 testers and keep them around for 14 days
- Me, a solo dev at 47: Where exactly do you think I'm getting 12 people if I barely speak to my wife, and that's my only social life, and my X presence is almost nonexistent? 😭😂

you don't wanna run a business you wanna play the twitter launch lottery and farm clout, that's why you think that it's the end of saas
go ask any clanker which type of online businesses are unaffected by 3 indiehackers vibing their own apps, but can be accelerated by having access to frontier models
then get bored halfway through reading the response and create another tweet scheduler, post it to indiehackers on twitter, and then wonder why you have zero sales
repeat tomorrow
One of the most transparent ppl in the app space rn 👇
Update: I think I cracked the directory submissions by arguing with codex for 2 days straight.
It submitted to 49 websites already, more on the way.
Will see the results in a month or two :)
Might switch over to claude just to avoid this reset drama.
I just want predictable usage at this point
i've started hating this reset bullshit so fucking much.
- so i have a reset coming on Sunday anyway, with about 30% left.
- they announce that the reset will happen on Friday @ 10 am.
- ok, i don't want to lose my 30%, so i spin up Astra and use it for some big refactoring work i was planning to do over the weekend.
- there's no reset @ 10 am because their compute power probably can't handle it right now, so they just go completely silent.
Really struggling to get Hermes working well with a browser.
Keeps hitting weird issues with verifying links via email and signing up to websites.
Any tips?

Beyond the inconvenience, there's a whole emotional subtext about why developers feel upset with Apple. Kafkaesque experiences like this *impute* (to use one of Steve Jobs' favorite words) a lack of respect for developers' time and livelihood.
I get that Apple has all the power and can "get away with it", but it just doesn't seem right that the greatest company in the world, that attends to every last detail of the consumer experience, is OK treating its developers this way.
Look, I love Apple so much. We are an iOS-only shop; we are good citizens of the Apple ecosystem; we root for Apple every step of the way.
It would not be hard to fix these issues if it were a priority. Please. 🙏

Trying to automate SEO for one of my apps.
Current progress, all handled by Hermes on a VPS:
• Keyword research with self-hosted OpenSEO
• Mega prompt for articles with deslop passes, AI-gen images/Pexels/Pinterest
• Automatic backlink directory submissions (wip)
Your “competitors” are bookmarking shit on X all day from ppl who are shilling their own product.
If you do anything at all, ur already winning.
There's something poetic about my first ever github repo being a python script to spam emails.
Idk why 18-year old me needed this lol
