This song angered the Catholic Church in Congo, and most of us who don't speak Lingala never knew what it said until it was subtitled in English. It's called Nakomitunaka, Lingala for "I ask myself." Verckys Kiamuangana released it in 1972, in what was then Zaire. President Mobutu was running his authenticity campaign, a push to replace colonial names and influences with African ones, and he was in open conflict with the Church. The song asks why all the saints and angels are white, while a black person is called a devil. Pepe Kalle sang lead on the original. Verckys didn't write a sermon. He wrote a question. His daughter Ancy has now recorded it with the lyrics and music unchanged. Verckys later made peace with the Church. The question is still unanswered. Credit: Ancy Kiamuangana feat. What level of foolishness does one have to sink to in order to believe this drivel? The tragedy is that there are morons who believe it and are not even embarrassed to defend it in public. This kind of ignorance is beyond any cure. It now goes some way to explaining why she is working with AfriForum, and why the racists are pushing all manner of secession nonsense for KwaZulu-Natal. They know exactly who will swallow it, and they are counting on that ignorance to divide a country that fought too hard for its unity to be torn apart by such reckless fools.

Being against the same thing does not mean that we are for the same thing. One of the challenges in post-colonial Africa has been how to effectively address political contradictions in ways that are not destructive. Zimbabwe's history demonstrated this problem. Joshua Nkomo recalled that he suffered more after Zimbabwe became independent than he did under European rule. As Eusi Kwayana and Horace Campbell explained: "We did not learn, whether in Zimbabwe or Guyana, to surround universal science with our own ethos."

The EFF’s Statement Condemning the Weaponisation and Abuse of the State Security Agency by the ANC -According to court testimony, millions of rands from the SSA were misused to fund a covert operation specifically targeted at spying on EFF caucuses and trying to destabilise our organisation by aggressively poaching influential leaders back to the ANC. This constitutional delinquency occurred at the height of our robust opposition to state capture and former President Jacob Zuma. It is completely unacceptable that tax money was spent on illegal surveillance of a democratically elected political party rather than protecting the citizens of South Africa.

A 3-year-old was allegedly removed from a youth soccer league because he was too good. His family says police arrived, I9 Sports issued a trespass notice, and refunded their registration. If this child was punished for excelling, what message does that send to every young athlete?! 🎥: @Nevadaney10

“Russia is Africa's best friend. Its legacy on the continent is paid in blood.” Mbuyiseni Quintin Ndlozi recalls how the Soviet Union backed African liberation without conditions, with the Battle of Cuito Cuanavale helping pave the way for apartheid's end. “After losing over 26 million of its population, the Soviet Union still supported African liberation just a decade later, without conditions.” Full interview on Sanchez Effect.
Is Africa being exploited by foreign powers, or are its own leaders selling the continent short? Mbuyiseni Quintin Ndlozi: “It's both. One serves the other very well.” He explains how African leaders' failure to unite weakens the continent's ability to defend its interests and negotiate on its own terms. Full interview on Sanchez Effect.

America is the citadel of racism. It's foundation is based on racism and the police department is an extension of white supremacy.
I’m going to correct this story because, OF COURSE, people are screaming “white supremacy” and “racism.” You can’t even get the story right. Parents did NOT call the police. An official did. Why? Because of a dispute involving PARENTS. The Winter Park Police Department released a statement: Police confirmed that nobody was arrested, forcibly removed, or issued a trespass warning. POLICE WERE NOT CALLED BY AN OPPOSING PARENT, ACCORDING TO THE OFFICIAL REPORT. They were contacted by an i9 Sports league official who reported a disturbance involving league officials and the child’s PARENTS. Local reporting identifies that official as Thomas Hayes, a director with i9 Sports. His race has not been verified. According to police, league officials wanted the family to leave and offered to refund their registration fees. When officers arrived, they were asked to communicate with the family to prevent the disagreement from escalating. The family says their son was excluded because he played too well. The league disputes that explanation.

White people see the Police as an extension of White Supremacy. To call the Police on a 3yr old Black boy for being too good at football exemplifies the threat Black Excellence is to them ☕️. Their racism knows no bounds. Caucacity On Steroids.

I bought a couple of Ethiopian Bibles in England two weeks ago for family members who are Christian, and I wrote about the Bible here on Facebook. That post appears to have created quite a buzz in Zimbabwe, with many people now looking for it. Innov8 Bookshop says it has the Bible on order, so if you want a copy, that is where to go. So what is the Ethiopian Bible, and how does it differ from the King James Version that most Zimbabwean Christians grew up with? The Ethiopian Bible is the scripture of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, one of the oldest Christian churches in the world. It has 81 books, compared with 66 in Protestant Bibles such as the King James Version and 73 in the Catholic tradition, making it the largest biblical canon in Christianity. Its Old Testament contains everything in the Septuagint, the ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew scriptures, as well as books such as Enoch, Jubilees and the three books of Meqabyan, which are not the same as the Books of Maccabees. Fragments of Enoch were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, but the Ethiopian text in Ge'ez is the only complete version to survive from ancient times, and Enoch is quoted in the Epistle of Jude, even though it is missing from most Bibles. Ge'ez, an ancient Semitic language, remains the language of worship in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, much as Latin once was in the Catholic Church. The King James Version, on the other hand, is an English translation first published in 1611 under King James I, and the editions most of us know contain only the 66 books accepted by Protestant churches, leaving out the extra books the Ethiopian church has kept for centuries.
