Thrilled to share our most recent paper. Led by the amazing @marielkleer, we show that a viral RNA called kaposin drives nuclear speckle seeding beside the KSHV viral genome, an event which optimizes viral gene expression.

This is totally brain shattering ;) An LLM that was never “told” what is thermodynamics, was just given sequences , picks up alternative structures of riboswitches and critical tertiary loop-loop contacts. It also discovers new putative human riboswitches ( stay tuned :). Shout out to God of RiNAlmo @msikic Check out our updated pre print biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

Phenomenal 🧵 (& paper) on why Omicron is less efficient at infecting lungs than previous variants. Initial ideas on this were proven wrong, & it's been an utter mystery since.
Stuart has largely explained it & revealed vital aspects of the SARS-2 life cycle along the way.
SARS-CoV-2 phenotypic trajectory and the Omicron Paradox. Discussion of the following pre-print and the complex intertwined pathways that have dictated phenotypic outcomes for SARS-CoV-2. This can be otherwise termed the pandemic to endemic trajectory: biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

A new/old SARS-CoV-2 paper for us is now in @NatureComms

We submitted first in 2023 and due to a variety of reasons, it is now out, in 2026.
The manuscript details our look into conserved SARS-CoV-2 Omicron mutations outside the receptor binding domain.
