I never checked this before today and I find this interesting, though public fielder positioning data play by play isn't available to really explore as in depth as I'd like to. But the WS really was also battle of:
TB: The most shaded defensive team in the league, by a significant margin
vs
MIL: The least shaded defensive team in the league, by a significant margin.
I find it interesting this is the case considering both organizations are so driven by information and so successful at run prevention; despite being composed of two athletic, defensively sound rosters that play in domes, each org had *VASTLY* different insight in optimizing their defense.
The Brewers in particular almost never shaded for a right handed hitter, just 0.3% of the time, while the Rays shaded 59.4% of the time against right handed batters....25.0 percentage points higher than the 2nd place team on the list.
Both teams yielded about the same results against right handed batters:
TB: .301 wOBA against
MIL: .302 wOBA against
Would be interesting in seeing more data on this that explains why they this is the case.

The Milwaukee Police Dept. estimates 750,000 people attended today’s parade downtown and rally at the Summerfest grounds for the World Series champion @Brewers. “Preliminary research shows this may have been the largest crowd for a single day event in state history,” said MPD.
Cooper Pratt was a high school senior hoping to be a first-round pick in the 2023 MLB Draft.
Instead, 181 players were chosen before the Milwaukee Brewers selected Pratt in the sixth round.
Disappointed, Pratt considered going to college and was ready to enroll at Ole Miss.
Eleven days after being drafted, he signed with the Brewers.
In 2024, he was the Brewers' 10th-ranked prospect.
In 2025, he was their 3rd-ranked prospect.
In the 2026 Fall Classic, he hit .421 with 1 HR and 7 RBI and helped the Brewers win their first World Series championship.
A truly dominant Postseason from the @Brewers bullpen 😮💨

ALT Text reads 1.38 ERA and .173 BAA in 65 IP and *2nd-lowest ERA & BAA by any bullpen in a single postseason (min. 50 IP) Pictured: Cutouts of all 9 Brewers bullpen staff, with Aaron Ashby and Abner Uribe largest and central. All wear cream Brewers uniforms with blue caps, with the exception of Brandon Woodruff who wears a dark blue uniform. I’ll watch this 30 years from now and will have just as big of smile on my face as I do right now

Cooper Pratt in the WS:
6 straight AB w/ a hit
5 straight games w/ a run
4 hits in a game
3 straight multi-RBI games
extra-inning HR
stolen base
No one else has done all that over any 5-game span (reg or post) at any point in his MLB career (since RBI became official in 1920).

Great coaches make it about the players! Simple and I truly hope coaches take something from his example. Show up and do the right things. This is so great to see Pat win like this.

You may see an 81 year old man crying after waiting decades to see his favorite team win the World Series but I see a 15 year old kid living in the moment.

People call being a sports fan a one-sided relationship. You give a team decades, and it doesn’t even know your name.
Then you see a video like this. An 81-year-old man in a Brewers jersey, crying, with his wife next to him, watching his team win the World Series. The Brewers came to Milwaukee in 1970, when he was about 25. They made the World Series once, in 1982, and lost in seven games. He waited 56 years, through decades of losing seasons, to see this. You don’t see an 81-year-old in that video. You see the kid who started rooting for them.
The psychologist Daniel Wann has spent years studying why fans stay. His research found that identifying with a local team gives people real connections: the friends you watch with, the strangers you high-five, the shared language of a city. In one of his studies of older fans, with an average age around 71, people who identified more strongly with a local team reported feeling less lonely.
So maybe it’s not as one-sided as it looks. The team never learns his name. But it gave him 56 years of people to share it with, and one night he’ll never forget.
