Fun times.
The fun thing about the traditional vows is that, if you think about it, you’re conveying unconditional life estates in your selves to one another. If you start messing with the language of the tenure like this, it destroys the beauty of the entire transaction.
Just as when a life tenant becomes his own remainderman, the two interests merge into fee simple, consider what happens when A is seised of B for life, and B is seized of A for life. In a sense, the spouses merge. They are, as it is said, two in one flesh. The form, then, in a roundabout way, reflects the reality.
Illinois is embarrassed by the number of career criminals caught reoffending after slaps on the wrist.
But the legislature has come up with a solution. No, not a solution to the recidivism problem, but a solution to the judges-and-prosecutors-being-embarrassed-by-their-bad-decisions problem. A new law automatically seals the records of every criminal case (with minor narrow exceptions). This means that journalists can’t write stories like this unless they maintain their own parallel records of sentencing instances.
This is unconstitutional. The public has a right to access to the court records, and a government can’t blanket seal such an overbroad category of cases.
@HamLincLaw would love to bring that lawsuit to block this law, but we need a journalist or publication who can show that they’ll be affected by this law to have standing to do it.
If that’s you, and you’re interested, DM or email me.
Getting a 42-month sentence for robbing the Prada store on Oak Street of $46,000 didn’t set him straight.
Months after getting out, he helped rob a utility crew of a $25,000 camera, which made the feds angry.
His sentence: 8 years *federal*

One of the strangest things I’ve seen working with small construction contractors is just how often their contracts claim an entitlement to interest but their late payment invoices never assess it.
Why put it in your contract if you aren’t going to use it?
And then there are a few who do use it… but charge an unlawful rate of interest. I once saw someone charging effectively 216% per annum.

Prohibiting children from attending a wedding, to my mind, is a sin.
And proper Last Gospels and allow up to 7 commemorations and benedicamus domino whenever the Gloria is not said or sung and restoring the duplex/semiduplex/simplex ranking system
Yeah the NO just needs a few tweaks you could just add the judica me and the traditional offertory prayers and the traditional calendar and the traditional readings and the Last Gospel and the older rubrics of the canon including the silent canon and remove the other EP options and then it would be mostly fine

This is why we need commemorations in the Ordinary Form
