Don't miss @craigmarks' excellent new interview in @HITSDD with our brilliant leader in producing @RecordingAcad's #GRAMMYs, @benwinston -- and not just because he mentions me! Also, please watch the broadcast Sunday night on @CBS & @paramountplus. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=…

Recommended distraction from today's abject misery: Go see the @Luthervandross doc, "Luther: Never Too Much." So much Black excellence and joy on display. Sadness, too, bc of fatshaming + homophobia, but goosebumps galore. The live footage of "A House Is Not a Home" is a miracle.

As an editor, I was perpetually trying to replicate the holy-shit moments of that interview with Q. Has a celebrity interviewee EVER had no fucks to give like Quincy? Soon after arriving at LAT, I asked Q's publicist for an interview. Publicist smiled and just shook his head no.

Anyone else notice that the ground ball Mookie Betts hit last night was very similar to the ground ball Mookie Wilson hit in 1986?

Everything that he has said is pure nonsense and doublespeak. Only thing that makes any sense is that he made a decision based on his own financial self-interest and threw the paper’s credibility under the bus.

The dialogue in the new trailer for the Bob Dylan movie is so cringey boomer

Rolling Stone had many friendly, cozy Puff Daddy profiles and cover stories back in his heyday, as did most every prominent outlet. It took Cassie coming forward to open the floodgates and spark investigative reporting, at RS and elsewhere.
Outside of Rolling Stone, which is producing phenomenal investigative reporting, the Diddy indictment shows how much we lose when we do not have nuanced, layered, and rigorous culture journalism that does not suppress the truth for the sake of having access.

I'd read a 10,000 word story on how Diddy and his legal team came to the decision not to settle with Cassie, and then paid her off 24 hours after the story came out, by which time his career and life was essentially over. Probably just unchecked narcissism. God bless Cassie...
