Info thread about the SNK Championship Series 2026 Finals, which will be hosted this weekend in China featuring GO1, Xiaohai, Nemo, M', and more of Asia's best for CotW and KOFXV. The event is the culmination of a series of qualifiers hosted throughout 2026, with a total prize pool of ¥760,000 CNY (≃ 113K+ USD). The finals consists of 16 players for CotW and 8 for KOFXV, and both will be played in double elimination brackets. Two players will qualify for SWC 2026 Finals for both titles. Friday will kick off the first round of CotW, Saturday will be all of KOFXV, and Sunday will then finish CotW, with each day starting around 2AM US eastern time. Not news but the overall gap in competition between recent premiers and early SF6 CPT is massive. Back in 2024 half the premiers looked like regionals, more recently they've been beyond stacked. CPT still has plenty of issues, but refocusing on the global leaderboard was crucial

The primary issue was how lack of incentives ultimately leads to apathy and defeats the purpose of a world tour, but watching @Dual_Kevin break his previous ceiling when events are this competitive does make it sweeter. EVO FR showed the best out of the CPT, it's not a given

KOFXV SWC 2026 leaderboard after this weekend. Xiaohai dominated KOF at EVO FR and players like ViolentKain, Juan KOF and Koopa also climbed, which Knocked Lacid and Kbecinha out of global qualifying range. SCS next week will qualify two more players, more info in a few days

So many top 8s and top 3s. I kept pushing myself for that dub because I trusted the process.
