How I Do a 10-Minute Rug Check (Before I Buy Anything) Most rugs don’t look like rugs on Day 1. They look like an “early gem”… then the slow bleed starts. In 10 minutes I’m not trying to prove it’s legit. I’m trying to find enough reasons to NOT buy. 1) Supply & bundle behaviour Who holds the supply? If a few wallets control most of it, you’re playing their game. I check for bundled wallets and whether they’re dripping sells over hours/days (classic slow-rug signature). I use this BOT: t.me/TrenchScannerBot Also, @bubblemaps is an excellent tool. 2) Liquidity structure LP size vs market cap tells you how easy it is to manipulate. If they claim LP is locked, I check where, how long, and whether it’s actually meaningful. “Locked” isn’t a flex if it’s locked for a week. This is easy to check on platforms like dexscreener.com 3) Deployer + wallet hygiene I look at deployer history, linked wallets, and funding sources. If the money trail looks dirty, the token usually follows. 4) Contract controls (the trap doors) Owner privileges matter. Pause trading, blacklist/whitelist, mint functions, adjustable taxes… any of these can turn into a trap the moment hype peaks. Then I track the tax wallets: are they selling into every pump, sending to fresh wallets/CEXs, or actually spending on liquidity, product, audits, listings? A “marketing tax” is only bullish if it’s used like a business, not a cash-out machine. That’s not “healthy profit taking”… that’s exit liquidity. 7) Volume quality If volume looks huge but social is dead, or trades look oddly repetitive, assume wash activity until proven otherwise. 8) My bot + fast tool checks My DD bots speed-run the obvious: top holder concentration, bundle detection, LP/contract flags, fresh wallet/insider flow signals. If the tools scream early, I don’t argue with them. 9) Social proof that actually matters I don’t care about follower count. I check who follows on X and who engages. Same for TG: real users asking real questions… or just mods + “GM” + noise? 10) Reality check: 🔹Product, funding, partners.. 🔹Is the product live and proven, or always “coming soon”? 🔹Is there real funding, or just marketing spend? 🔹And partners, are they verifiable, or just “announcing support”? 🔹Real partners leave receipts. If you can’t answer most of this quickly… you’re not investing, you’re gambling. Question every call. 🦁
