I've always loved @eBoyArts's unique style. When I found out they were running #PhiTilixContest to create art for @phi_xyz, I knew I had to give their modular system, TiliX, a try. This piece is a love letter to generative art.

Hey everyone, I've been meaning to share some updates about fxhash with you for many weeks, but have struggled immensely to do so. A little while ago, as we were trying to secure a loan to keep fxhash going, we received pretty bad news. As some of you were aware, fxhash was under compliance review by the French tax authorities; it was a lengthy and draining process that lasted more than 2 years. At the end of it, despite our goodwill and the lack of regulation applicable to our case, we were fined ~€500k. This would consume almost all of the loan, essentially putting a nail in the fxhash coffin. This really took a toll on me, as things were already pretty depressing future-wise. I had been operating the company (arguably poorly) almost alone, handling admin stuff / trying to secure some money. This news essentially voided all these efforts and meant there was no future for the business anymore. At that point I sort of dissociated from this situation, as I had reached my limits in terms of handling this business. I took some time off April/September to work on myself, my art, and try to figure out what to do next. Taking this time off didn't really come from an active decision, but rather from a need to understand what to do next. As many of you saw, I was becoming less and less present online as I had very little energy left for that. I needed to focus back on myself. During this time, cosi announced the closure of the project. It was hard to watch silently from the sidelines, but I was eventually grateful that he had the composure to inform you folks about the state of things. I wanted to respond publicly to many of you, but I felt like I couldn't just come out of the shadows at such a time without at least offering a few explanations, which somehow felt like an impossible task to me. I also know fxhash meant a lot to many of you. People put their art, their time, and their trust into this project, and formed friendships along the way. Its closure is a loss for many people beyond those of us who worked on it. I'm sorry my silence left you with so few answers from me during that time. I'm deeply grateful for everything you brought to fxhash over the years, and sad that we couldn't keep it going. So here we are now. The business is insolvent. I'll declare bankruptcy in the near future and see how we can pay some of those debts back with the few assets left. As for the future of the project itself, I'm not sure. I took some steps to secure IPFS content on a low-cost dedicated instance in case this happened, as a safety mechanism. But eventually, if we want the art to survive over time, the community will have to organize itself around preservation. I've seen a few initiatives already; hopefully this keeps going for the sake of the art. I think there's a bit of work left on my end to ensure the community can properly take over hosting & distribution of the assets. I'll look into that in the following weeks. On my end I've been working on art again and it feels great. It hadn't felt great for a long time. I would love to find energy and ideas again to contribute positively to the cryptoart space, but it's gonna take a bit of time to get there. In the meantime, I'm very grateful to those who reached out to offer help/a shoulder to lean on. I hope we can keep these friendships going throughout life.

I wish the outcome were different. Such an amazing community it was. Looking forward to what lies all those who were apart of the adventure and for generative art as a whole.
To everyone, thanks for the amazing years. It seems that the fxhash platform has come to a close. The artwork, however, lives on. The lack of communication around the wind-down is regrettable. To clarify and provide some closure: The entire fxhash team was let go in February, except for the founder. Currently, there appears to be no attempt being made to close on the loan offered to the company (the loan was previously mentioned in a post by ciphrd). Therefore, no current or future development is being planned. The website is now offline, and it is unclear whether it will come back. To all the people who made fxhash possible: artists, collectors, team members, enthusiasts, supporters, partners...in short, EVERYONE who took part in the special happening that was fxhash...THANK YOU! We shared so much together and had a truly wild code-based ride. Thankfully, @verse_works @lerandomart @objktcom are supporting the viewing & exchange of artworks published on fxhash. Mega props to them for staying true to the mission through difficult times. And former fxhash front-end developer @maerzhase3000 has developed a framework for keeping fxhash artwork available without relying on fxhash infrastructure: whitehash.m3000.io It's too bad things ended like this. But between the monumental trove of artwork that formed a unique creative movement and the friends we made along the way, some might say we lived it to the fullest. The discord community is indeed still online and active if you're looking for a place to hang and talk about the good ol' days. If only the market was different. The project brought Web3 to life in a way that only @shugo_jpn @ZkEther @eBoyArts and the so many others in the community could. Looking forward to what the future holds for all those involved.
Today we're announcing something difficult to share. After 4 years, Phi will be winding down. phi.box and related services will go offline on May 25th, 2026. Here's what to expect over the next 3 weeks.

FYI - don't buy brushes second hand on @opensea More info about major changes but the TLDR is that just because a brush has 500, 1000 or 5000 pixels today doesn't mean it keeps its pixel count forever. Pixel counts go up and down depending on the quality of art & collaboration of the brush holder. It's better (and more affordable) to spend $5 to mint your brush and earn pixels by making beautiful art than spend $200 on OS buying someone else's brush.

Explanation of the current npm hack In any website that uses this hacked dependency, it gives a chance to the hacker to inject malicious code, so for example when you click a "swap" button on a website, the code might replace the tx sent to your wallet with a tx sending money to hacker But in your wallet you'd still see the bad tx and need to approve it, its not like you'll instantly get drained Furthermore, this will only impact websites that pushed an update since the hacked npm package was published, as other projects will have the old version And most projects pin their dependencies, so even if they push an update they'll keep using the old safe code So your wallet is safe and the effective impact area is much smaller than "all websites", but since you cannot really know if a project pinned dependencies, or if they have some dynamically downloaded dependency (very unlikely), it's just safer to avoid using crypto websites till this blows over and they clean up the bad packages

I would strongly recommend not signing any crypto transactions right now. There is a huge supply chain attack on popular NPM packages that may have compromised various crypto websites (frontend, not the actual contracts). It changes the destination address of transactions and approvals to be the attacker's addresses rather than the address you're actually trying to interact with.

I should mention: I can't draw either! 😅 ChatGPT DOES make decent pixel art. But one-shotting a full sprite sheet was impossible. The solution (as usual with LLMs) is to break the problem into smaller pieces. Instead of "make me a sprite sheet"...

Such a great writeup!
BasePaint has been fueling daily onchain pixel art on Base for over 580 days straight. Daily, hundreds of artists add pixels to a shared canvas, minted as an Open Edition NFT, with proceeds returning to contributors. Alongside @nounsdao & @mathcastles' Terraforms, it’s now among Ethereum’s oldest ongoing art performances. If you’re a fan (like me), check out Completor.👇 ~~ Analysis by @wmpeaster ~~ Built by the team at Dot — @taylor_ and @thgcruz7 — Completor is a new app designed so collectors can quickly work their way toward collecting a full BasePaint set, i.e. every open-edition canvas minted so far. You connect your wallet, and afterwards the app will see which BasePaint canvases you already own and which you're missing. The platform then scans secondary listings on NFT marketplaces like OpenSea and preps a basket filled with 20 of your missing pieces, which you can buy in one go at the cheapest available prices. For example, at the time of writing, my next personalized batch of 20 canvases would cost me 0.071 ETH per for the most affordable current floor listings. If you're just a casual collector, the app's an easy way to grab your first 20 canvases or your next batch of canvases for your existing collection. If you're a hardcore collector, you can go after the coveted @basepaint_xyz full set, which consists of 587 NFTs and counting. This is the die-hard route, as a full set presently costs ~10 ETH. You can track this cost over time with Completor's Price Tracker. Notably, just 105 full sets are possible, which, if I'm not mistaken, is because the smallest-supply BasePaint canvas had 105 editions minted, making it a bottleneck limiting how many complete sets can exist. As of now, only 15 collectors have completed the full set milestone per Completor's Leaderboard, so 90 remain possible at the moment. Otherwise, if you're somewhere between casual and hardcore, Completor also lets you set up your batch buys so you collect toward just the first 100 days or the first 365 days of BasePaint canvases. Up to you! For me, BasePaint has proven itself as one of the most successful collaborative art projects in crypto, so I really like the Completor app because it's simple, it supports BasePaint, and it makes diving into the platform's legacy more accessible than ever. If you're into the Ethereum ecosystem's creative scene too, this is a legacy worth fostering. As Dot's Taylor McKnight put it on X: "In the coming decades, [BasePaint] will go down as a significant and historical collection showing the power of decentralized cooperation." With that in mind, if you want to further cement yourself as a patron of some of the Ethereum community's most iconic art, you've got a slick new app to consider in Completor. Collecting cryptoart + creative onchain composability FTW, I say.
