My 15th season covering high school football came to a close last night and I want to leave you with a word of thanks!
First, I would challenge you to find another local radio station that puts together a one-hour pregame show. Most stations do 20 or 30 minutes. We dedicate an entire hour to hearing from both head coaches and getting everyone ready for Friday night. A big reason we can do that is because of the incredible number of sponsors who support our coverage. We are fortunate to have so many local businesses that believe in what we do and without them, none of this would be possible. Their support allows us to bring these games into your homes, cars, and wherever you happen to be listening on the app.
A huge thank you to Drew Spangler for all of his hard work throughout the season. From entering rosters and preparing rotations to keeping stats and updating records, he does a tremendous amount behind the scenes. He also brings a different perspective to the broadcast as a former Royal. I think we have developed great chemistry and provide a product that our listeners can be proud of.
Thank you to Russell Dickson for producing the games back at Tobacco Square and making sure everything sounds great on the air.
Finally and most importantly, thank YOU for listening. The kind words and encouragement never get old. Whether itβs a text message, a Facebook message, or someone stopping me in the community to share a comment, it means more than you know. We truly appreciate everyone who tunes in and supports what we do.
Fifteen seasons in and I still enjoy every minute of it. Iβll take a few weeks off, recharge the batteries, and then get ready for high school basketball!
Thank you to everyone who makes Friday night football on WFTM possible. We couldnβt do it without you!
