The 2020 NYPD budget was larger than the budgets for NYC parks, Libraries, Dept for the Aging, and the Dept of Youth & Community Development COMBINED. How can we invest in our future when we are busy investing in dangerous policing practices? Its time to redirect funds now!

Assata Shakur speaks on building community throughout organizations and neighborhoods. Building true community is a process and that process takes time but can’t be neglected. The only way to liberate our people is to genuinely engage with them and care for them.

Yesterday Feb. 21, marked 8 years since Ryo Oyamada was killed by #NYPD officer Darren Ilardi. Ryo was a 24-year-old student and musician from Japan who was struck by Ilardi's patrol vehicle at 60+ MPH. 8 years later and Ilardi is still on the force. #FireNYPD #RestInPower
