My very first spatial instrument "GAP+"(2019) is showing at Currents New Media Art Festival! See you in June🌟
It is a remote sound museum, transforming gesture, to spatial structure, to live-composed spatial sounds. It invites audience to perform their sensory presence, further re-interpreting the idenity and history through regenrating local urban soundscape.
With samples from Kulangsu/Gulangyu, the instrument builds a distant connection to this little island in Southeast China. Inspired by the walking experience and physical sound effects through gaps of the urban space, the project presents a new interactive music structure.
