Elon Musk is without a doubt the most grotesque example of extreme wealth being mistaken for virtuous genius that I’ve ever seen, no contest. A dude whose business empire has had the exceptional luxury of upwards of $38 BILLlON in government contracts, loans, subsidies, and tax credits that lectures us on government waste, fraud, and abuse. He takes a literal fucking chainsaw to government aid, while hundreds of thousands die from the lack of access, and simultaneously engorges himself at the public pig trough of endless money. He then takes the grift cash to buy elections, outright rig them, gains extraordinary access to the backrooms and convinces panting sycophants that he’s “fighting the establishment.” He IS the establishment. Years and years of missed deadlines, self driving promises just around the corner. Spectacular theatrical marketing presentations presented as new technology, with an army of ball riding zombies to explain why his latest failure is actually evidence of 5D chess wizardry. All in line to be the friend he doesn’t have. He was emailing Epstein to find about the “wildest parties” on child rape island, and you people still clamber. Speaking of mouth breathing followers, the cult surrounding him is even more disturbingly dangerous. Every glaring contradiction becomes an insult worthy misunderstanding. Every dumb comment is a masterpiece. Every legitimate totally fair criticism becomes proof that the questioner is stupid, jealous, or secretly working against humanity itself. It’s so blatantly a cult. At what point does this bizarre admiration become deliberately and completely giving up independent thought? You can acknowledge the success of his companies and the remarkable engineering feats without cosplaying that he’s some infallible prophet. And give his employees some credit. He’s a trillionaire with huge political influence, a pretty pathetic appetite for public attention indicative of someone that’s insecure, and a documented history of promise after promise that he doesn’t deliver on. Please, don’t confuse money with intelligence. They rarely go hand in hand. Also, realize that proximity to great power is not synonymous with moral authority. The truth is historically the opposite. And for fucks sake, stop worshipping people who wouldn’t piss on you if you were on fire.

What most people already understand, even without the economic terminology, is that firms like BlackRock operate less like investors and more like modern feudal landlords. They buy essential infrastructure, water networks, ports, energy grids, data centres, and other public necessities, often using vast amounts of borrowed money and paying prices that ordinary market participants cannot match. Once the acquisition is complete, the debt is pushed onto the acquired company itself. The result is simple: the public pays. Consumers repay that debt through higher water bills, rising energy prices, increased fees, and declining service quality. The infrastructure becomes a cash-extraction machine. Profits flow upward to shareholders and executives, while the financial burden flows downward to ordinary households. When the model inevitably breaks down, the consequences are socialised. Communities are left with crumbling infrastructure, polluted rivers and failing services. Thames Water's £14 billion debt mountain and repeated sewage scandals are a stark example of what happens when financial engineering takes precedence over public stewardship. The executives who loaded the company with debt have already collected their bonuses. The investors have already taken their returns. And when the system finally reaches its breaking point, taxpayers are expected to pick up the bill. Privatise the gains. Socialise the losses. That is the business model......

Pretty clear that Trump/Hegseth are doing everything they can to force Ukraine to surrender to Putin by withholding all US assistance while actively helping fund the Russian war machine to kill as many civilians as possible including kids. What a dark, evil chapter in US history.

If £10billion buys a sophisticated missile defence system, how on earth did you Tories spend £37 billion on track and trace?

John Sweeney's fine book,The Real Nigel Farage, exposes Reform's leader for the disrurbed, dangerous & repulsive politician & person he is, & always has been. This is done through many interviews with many people who know Farage well, from working with him, being at school with him, or sleeping with him. What emerges is a cruel, vengeful, angry narcissist. His former colleague Neil Hamilton says 'Nigel wants to be the bride at every wedding.' The most significant revelation is the contempt Farage shows, in private, for working people, the very folk who are fuelling his popularity. This is our Trump, a dangerous & disrturbed man, skilled at political trickery & little else. Lord help us if he ever holds national power.

Trump described Canada as a far greater enemy of the USA than Putin’s Russia. It is time to say this openly: – The USA is currently ruled by a dictator who was most likely recruited back in the days of the USSR. – As it turns out, the American system of checks and balances does not actually exist in reality. – The trust between Europe and the USA—which had existed since at least 1945—has been buried; if not forever, then certainly for a very long time. t.me/MirovichMedia/15344

this just can't be happening this shortly after Finlay Tarlings passing
During the final kilometer of the ITT at the SauerlandRundfahrt 2026, Louis Leidert (Lidl-Trek) encountered two cars on the course that had no business being there. With the first oncoming vehicle, things could have ended very badly. Fortunately, nothing happened. Phew!

🇺🇸 Americans queued around the block for the opening of a Lidl in Brooklyn 🙌 desperate for the affordable, safe food and choice offered by a European supermarket model. Yet Britain is told that Brexit Britain must weaken its safeguards and open our market to food produced to standards that would be illegal here. The irony is glaring: while Britain is pushed towards US-style deregulation, American shoppers cannot get enough of European food retail. High food standards are not protectionism. They are a selling point 👉 and safe, affordable food should be available to everyone.

Ben's at it again 🤦 And it's all bullshit spoken with a posh English accent - how persuasive that combination has been over the years! No wonder he and George are such chums Two of Rewilding Britain's founders pointing the 'rewilding' gun at the UK's uplands once again FFS
My latest guest on Rewilding the World, @GeorgeMonbiot, famously described Britain’s upland hills as ‘sheepwrecked’. By seeking out tree seedlings, sheep ensure that no trees grow at all. Only a few plant species are able to survive their onslaught. Listen to the full episode wherever you get your podcasts.

There should be a hall of residence for MPs. Each MP has access to a small apartment with sitting room, double bedroom, bathroom and small kitchen. When the MP loses their seat they move out and the next MP for that constituency takes over the residency. No need for second homes.
Andy Burnham needs to make some no brainer changes: Change second homes for MPs so they provide a home but not profit Stop second jobs for MPs. They’re paid to work for us. Make attending Parliament mandatory. No coming/going at will. Stop subsidising food/drink. At cost
