I don’t get all the hate for the Twitter 2.0 email, I’ve always done my best when working 80 hours a week for a man child who has no clear goals and screams “MORE HARDCORE” whenever a clarifying question is asked. That’s when I really thrive.
I was once asked to come back and work for a company that fired me, so I do have some sense of how certain Twitter engineers are feeling right now. I offered an absurdly high per-hour consultancy rate which the company declined. At least we BOTH ended up feeling insulted.

Today marks my two-year anniversary with @NetflixEng It’s been a season of many changes and many challenges, both personal and professional. Most days, I still love this - the hardest and most rewarding job I’ve ever had.
Another shock to the system that is the tech labor market. It’s going to take us quite some time, collectively, to bounce back. My heart goes out to everyone at Meta today. ❤️

Amen. You don’t get my best work when I’m past the point of exhaustion, anyway. Any company I would care to contribute to values seeing me rested, healthy, and capable of creativity and compassion.
Rumors are starting to leak about impending layoffs at Meta. If you work there, I imagine your anxiety level is mighty high.
