If we could see where the DSA candidates stood on housing (no new development) or public safety (murderers don’t belong in prison), there’s no way people would vote for them.
So they focus on Palestine, hoping it will distract voters from their positions that matter.
On Tuesday, Palestine is on the ballot in New York. Where do your candidates stand?
Check your candidates’ positions on recognizing the genocide in Gaza, supporting the Not on Our Dime! Act, funding from the Israel lobby, and more: palestineontheballot.com
This is the modern-day equivalent of a Medieval lord telling his serfs that the reason they are starving is because Jewish moneylenders stole all their money.
New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.
I didn’t realize Ilhan Omar began wearing a hijab only after 9/11, someone should introduce her to Zohran Mamdani’s aunt
lol nobody but Jews watched this show and surprisingly they’re not tuning in after the hot rabbi spouted off on his opinions on genocide.
‘Nobody Wants This’ creator Erin Foster responds to Adam Brody’s support for Palestine:
“While I love Adam, I also disagree with him, and that’s OK … I want our Jewish fans to know that I see you and I hear you and I understand how you feel. The show has always been and always will be a love letter to Judaism. That is why I made this show. It’s because of how beautiful of an experience I’ve had becoming Jewish and being a Jewish person. And sitting here right now, at this time in the world when there is almost zero positive representation of Jewish people, I think it’s so important to have that.”

There was a stretch where Democrats sounded genuinely alarmed by the alt-right and white supremacists.
AOC just sent $1M to Abdul El-Sayed. His latest ad leans on Tucker Carlson’s endorsement. Tucker Carlson.
This is the guy she correctly labeled a “white supremacist sympathizer,” said was “very clearly” inciting violence, blamed for a flood of death threats, and called “trash,” “a creep,” and “basura.”
Turns out principles are negotiable if the bigot is on your side.

In NYC, it’s considered progressive to fight against charter schools right up to the point of (and even while) you’re so failed by traditional public schools that your kid needs one.
“While I respect arguments against the charter school movement — I even agree with some of them — we’ve applied to a well-regarded Brooklyn charter school and I have found myself wishing there were more.”

You can really tell when someone is used to talking to their little bubble and having sycophants respond enthusiastically without any critical thought and questioning. And then they go out into the real world and forget that they can’t just say things anymore.
Those who claim Israel is a bad ally to the US should be asked why the US continues its relationship with Israel. The answers should be very illuminating!

This is hateful and racist harassment of a Jewish colleague by Ha is what @CAIRNational is defending
This is why I never understood the appeal of Mamdani’s promise of “Fast, Free Buses”. The buses are already free, if you want them to be.
I pay my fare. But if you don’t want to, just….don’t. You don’t need to create a whole political identity out of it.
Lots of “just criticism of Israel” going on in the replies
Jews leaving the Democratic Party are reacting not to criticism of Israel but to being told that our rights are subordinate. And maybe we’re acting like that because we have a lot of evidence that in the Democratic Party, today, the civil rights of Jews do not matter.
There was an immediate tension between the “free speech” rights of anti-Israel protesters and the civil rights of Jews, and choices needed to be made. And at every point the Denocratic Party prioritized the free speech rights of the protesters over the civil rights of Jews.
Democrats could have said that they were uncomfortable with the carnage in Gaza but really Jewish students at Columbia had nothing to do with all this and these college protests were getting out of hand and btw why were so many foreign students involved? But instead Democrats made the explicitly choice to frame the issue as one of free speech, and if that came at the cost of the civil rights of Jewish students, well, that was very unfortunate but there was nothing to be done.
Democrats could have said that they agreed that the situation in the West Bank was very bad but you cannot protest outside of a synagogue no matter how vehemently you disagree with what’s going on inside that synagogue, because that violates the civil rights of Jewish people. But instead it became a referendum of the free speech rights of the protesters, with no thought to the rights of the people trying to access their house of worship.
We’re leaving because we’re constantly being told that our rights do not matter. And if there’s one thing Jews have learned over the past 2000 years, it’s how to know when it’s time to leave.
For years ancestry.com has said I was some combo of Jewish, Central Asian, Levantine, and Persian.
But it seems like Ancestry finally gave up and has declared me 100% Eastern Mizrahi Jew.
Now I know what my friends who got “100% Eastern European Jew” feel like.
Jews are high propensity voters, we volunteer, & we donate a lot of money. We’ve been replaced with, at best, low propensity, fair-weather voters. The only people who are happy about this, or who are telling you not to care, are people who don’t want Democrats to win elections.
I’m sure the replies & QTs to this are totally normal and provide great counterfactuals for how welcome Jews are in the Democratic Party and why they should keep voting for Democrats 🙃
