🎉 Great work @Kevin_Reyes650, @danielkwonmd and team describing the decision-related needs of people newly diagnosed with #cancer while hospitalized. Multiple perspectives included: patients, caregivers, oncologists.

A hybrid oncologist/genetic counselor–delivered model is a feasible for high-volume #germlinetesting in men w #prostateCancer #pcSM (both in person & via #telehealth 💻); it does not eliminate racial disparities in testing access however. 👉 fal.cn/3vqSW @danielkwonmd

Thanks @cancerGRACE for producing this 7-part series I did with Fred on high quality decision making in advanced prostate ca. We talk about why this is important, steps, and resources. Applicable to all cancers! youtube.com/playlist?list=PL…
In this video from our past year's Patient Education Ambassador Program, Dr. @danielkwonmd & Fred discuss his first option: starting hormone treatment immediately and its risks/benefits.

In this @JAMAOnc Patient Page, we (@AnaVManana @ivandk3) wrote an easy-to-understand explanation of PSMA PET Scans in prostate cancer. jamanetwork.com/article.aspx… Great resource for patients. @cancerGRACE

It's rough to wait so long to get 177Lu-PSMA-617 therapy available, and then see a patient who is in such need with a scan that would suggest great benefit (SUVs in the 60s), and then find out that doses can't be delivered for an unknown amount of time. Unbelievable!

Finally! FDA approves 177Lu-PSMA-617. Somewhat odd name (Pluvicto). Can't wait to see the prescribing information.

Great work by @WaspGarrett. Used consultation audio recordings of pt-oncologist visits to find that when discussing systemic tx, default is to continue tx, 2/2 deficiencies in shared decision making. What can be done? ascopubs.org/doi/abs/10.1200…
Need to increase our visit times, implement communication tools like consultation recordings, decision tools like decision aids and question prompt lists, and make sure our workforce has adequate, culturally competent communication training. @JCOOP_ASCO
