I have been lawfully in the United States for 17 years (since age 10), yet had no pathway to citizenship other than marriage. A couple years ago, I decided I’d create a short film to raise awareness about this issue. Watch the full film at youtu.be/tOS-4gCVk30 (1/5).

Typical employment based immigration process in the United States
Worker: Can I get an employment-based green card?
America: Do you have a job offer?
Worker: Yes.
America: Can you get prevailing wage determined to prove you won't be underpaid?
Worker: Done.
America: Conduct a recruitment process to see if there are any qualified Americans for this job?
Worker: Completed, no qualified Americans found.
America: Now submit all your documents proving you meet all the criteria for the job and immigration petition.
Worker: Done
America: Congratulations, your immigration petition is approved.
Worker: Great, can I have my green card now?
America: Actually NOW tell me where were you born?

It’s important to recognize that there is bipartisan support for expanding legal immigration and allowing people to come and contribute.
New Senate bill has a few surprising provisions: more family & employment green cards, age-out protections for children of H-1B visa holders waiting for green cards & a path to permanent residence for Afghans parolees. @gsiskind @SIIA_US @ImproveTheDream forbes.com/sites/stuartander…

One of the most dangerous streets for pedestrians and cyclists? Not anymore.
We worked with Fortaleza, Brazil, to make changes to Leste Oeste Avenue — a previously deadly road. In 2022, zero people died on Leste Oeste. #VisionZero #ChangeStreetsChangeTheWorld
Uma pisadinha de leve no freio, ao passar pela Av. Leste-Oeste, trouxe mudanças bem importantes para a segurança no trânsito. 🚦🛻🏍️

A wonderful article by Julie, which describes why it is necessary to create a pathway for American raised and educated children.
