You can now automate recurring engineering work with team tasks in ChatGPT, like pulling together what shipped and what’s blocked every Friday.
Your teammates can review the results and change what the next update covers, so you don’t have to maintain it on your own.
we cooked this episode for y’all
with our amazing sous chefs @MatthewBerman & @ForwardEditor 🫶🥘
Here’s what we’re cooking with Codex:

I never use my iPhone’s camera button. So I made it call my dot.
We just shipped dot widgets and Action button support on iOS. Here’s how to set those up, plus the Shortcuts trick I used for the camera button.

Replying to @OpenAIDevs
Couple weeks back, I made this with Astra and OpenAI's voice agent, works of WiFi, connected to Gmail, MCPs pretty good device esp32 for around $60.

What a time to be alive. Codex is taking over my MacBook and iPhone Air to do some profiling and optimisation on the game. All that autonomously.

I built a dream logger.
For all those dreams I forget five minutes after waking up.
This little @M5Stack CoreS3-SE turns dreams into images using the @OpenAIDevs image-gen API. 🧵
Connecting Codex to hardware helped me build my cat his own TV
I have an extremely active cat who unfortunately loves TV a little too much (he tries to jump into it)
I've always wanted to give him something more stimulating, so I decided to build him his own

who in SF is building fun hardware with OpenAI APIs and Codex?
think fidget toys, little assistants, weird gadgets
i’d love to capture your use cases and chat about what you’re making

Building a @modretro game with my daughter and Codex
heading to Tokyo for the first time, so my dot and i are building out my first Tokyo trip in Spaces
we got maps for each activity, with food (duh!) + coffee stops nearby. planning to work early mornings + evenings so i can spend my days exploring Tokyo and meeting devs while i'm in Asia
this is Felix, the detective in a mini mystery game i built for nights when i host dinner. and yes: he lives on an M5StickS3 from @M5Stack.
i can ask him Qs about the case, pitch my lil theory, and get clues printed on an actual receipt
🧵 I built it with Codex, ImageGen, Decisions API & GPT-Transcribe:
the M5StickS3 handles the buttons, microphone, speaker and screen. Behind the scenes, a @Raspberry_Pi 5 stores your progress, calls da OpenAI APIs & controls the receipt printer over USB
codex built the Arduino/C++ firmware and Python backend
🖼️ ImageGen turned the original visual reference into Felix’s character artwork and animation strips
– Codex converted the approved sprites into 41 cutesy frames at 84 × 112 pixels, encoded as RGB565 for the handheld
– Felix’s listening, thinking and reaction animations all run locally
🎙️ The first voice prototype was built using the greatest... obv GPT-Live-1
– The current version uses GPT-Transcribe to turn your question into text, generates Felix’s reply, then reads it aloud with text-to-speech
– As you ask Qs and share your potential answer, Felix’s voice, screen captions and printed receipt all use the same reply
