Calling terrorism “domestic terrorism” is colonialist and perpetuates American white supremacy, does it not?
When using “domestic” to mean an “American” inflicted terrorism on “their” “own” “America”, isn’t there something absurdly problematic there? It reinforces their agency and rights. It speaks to where they should end up in the geography of the justice system.
Flavoring terrorism with the word “domestic” illustrates just how unavailable the idea is that America might belong to anyone other than its current colonial occupiers.
In post-9/11 America it is starkly Islamophobic. Terrorism is terrorism, regardless of immigration status or colonial subject. “Domestic” in the American vocabulary is a pillar of white supremacy and arbitrary entitlements. It’s completely vulgar and also anti-native
