Brutal week for Star Trek fans. RIP Sir Patrick.

Well said, Admiral. Warp speed and RIP Walter
I am deeply saddened to learn of Walter Koenig’s passing. Although we did not know each other well away from the set, we shared the later seasons of the original Star Trek series and the six films that followed. What I observed, and what so many fans have expressed over the years, was a man who genuinely loved the Star Trek community. At conventions, Walter was rarely content to remain behind a signing table. He preferred to be among the people who had kept Star Trek alive for so many decades. That kind of genuine connection is rare, and it will be remembered by everyone who came into contact with him. My condolences to his family, his friends, and the countless fans whose lives he touched.

What's up with the writing scam e-mailers not waiting even 24 hours before trying a follow-up? Guys, my 1st block & ignore was final so save it.

Clearly someone needs to bundle these waffle irons with a sausage press for a daily double.

Sometimes you just need to admire and wave at the tall ship sailing by.

Just had a lovely unsolicited offer to represent from a literary agent at some big named firm. The problem? They used an AOL email address.

Boy, there is absolutely nothing more motivating than to receive a writing scam email that opens with the salutation: Hello [Name], And by ‘motivating’ I mean prompting me to block and report as fast as possible.

A Writer's Brain: *squishes roach* *side-eyes 4 baits & traps it had scurried by* *wonders if roaches got AI* *imagines not all roaches are onboard with that* *envisions brutal roach civil war commencing* *civilization imperiled* *shakes head & wipes up bug guts*

MSN showed this F-117 image today and I can't think of a better one to illustrate the cutting-edge capabilities of this aircraft.

I’m tired of what the doctor keeps telling me. I need one of those getting older afflictions where the prescription is to eat more desserts and increase my sedentary lifestyle.

I keep relearning one of the cold hard truisms about owning an underground sprinkler system. Which is: when you go to work on it, the pipes are waaay deeper than you expect. At all other times, they’re perilously close to the surface.

Woke up thinking today would be a great day to have fun storming the castle.

I wish I had a sale for every come-on email that starts, “I read your book and propose the following to help promote it…” If I did, I wouldn’t need to promote it.

The sad thing about the barrage of AI-driven come-ons to help promote and market your books is: a) some are supremely tempting because they resonate and sound effective, while b) they smother and drown any stray bona fide offers that reach you.

Buying something online isn’t always my best option. Unless I choose to buy it from a neighborhood store.

There isn’t always an app for that. But if you wait long enough, there will be. With ads.
