I guess I'm old-fashioned, but I think it should be a bigger story that the eldest son of the President of the United States is vacationing with corrupt Russian oligarchs.
Wow. Financial Times reports that Trump Jr. went on a Mongolian hunting trip with the Russian businessman who financed his wedding party. The trip was in August, three months after the wedding. ft.com/content/f41fc704-c9e6…

Russia is committing war crimes and crimes against humanity by intentionally attacking civilian infrastructure – including vital energy systems – in Ukraine, an independent UN investigations panel said on Monday. cnn.com/2026/10/26/europe/un…

Dangling this kind of money will bring in a flood of frivolous allegations which, of course, this White House will treat with the utmost seriousness and reason to interfere with the elections.
In this day and age of precision drones and missiles, there is no excuse for targeting of civilians.
This is intentional.
This is a war crime.
Trump’s assistance to Putin makes the US complicit in war crimes.
@RepFinstad
If Trump does manage a last minute visit to Minnesota to campaign for Tafoya, it would likely clinch the election for Flanagan.
Trump sets the stage to interfere in Minnesota's elections: "Let's all get behind Michele Tafoya in Minnesota. She's running a great race. Don't allow them to play with the Votes after the race is over. The Federal Government will be watching closely. The only way she can lose is if they cheat by playing games with the Ballots as they come in. We can't allow that to happen, because I won Minnesota three times, but they didn't give me the Victories, and Minnesota hasn't been 'won' since 1972, when Richard Nixon claimed the trophy. Michele Tafoya has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Senator from the Great State of Minnesota — She will not let you down! President DONALD J. TRUMP"

They, in fact, came to our aid after we were attacked on 9/11. So yes.
Replying to @BernardGoldberg
So, Ukraine is coming to our aid if we are attacked? Do you really believe that?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Ukraine did provide military support to the US following the 9/11 attacks, with over 5,000 troops serving in Iraq as the third-largest coalition contingent and contributions to Afghanistan operations.

It is not Leaving MAGA's approach to debate; this is why we avoid the question of, "why leave MAGA?" But if I had to offer an answer, it would be: because being in MAGA kills off one's empathy. When I left MAGA, I reclaimed my empathy, and became what I call a born-again human being.
Filling up a Ford F-150 truck now costs about $100, up $30 from a year ago. Mortgage rates have jumped to levels that have depressed home sales. And for the past 12 months, consumer prices have risen faster than paychecks, making the average family poorer. abcnews.link/lZflzAb

Visit the social media pages of the Republicans and Democrats, and you'll see a lot of posts telling you how awful the other party is and why you should vote against them.
On our page we're making the case for the Forward Independence movement. We're talking about bringing people together, putting problem-solving ahead of partisan politics, and giving Minnesotans a real alternative to the two major parties.
We don't need to convince you to hate the other side. We want to give you something worth voting FOR.
And there's an opportunity to take a major step forward this November. If Jay Reeves receives at least 8% of the vote for State Auditor, Forward Independence becomes a Major Party in Minnesota.

If Congress considers TCAVA and the Major Richard Star Act separately in November, each vote will stand on its own.
Supporting the clean Major Richard Star Act does not require accepting TCAVA’s disability compensation pay-for.
Congress must oppose TCAVA as written and pass the clean Major Richard Star Act (H.R. 2102). Veterans are watching.

I won a @Milreporters Award for two stories I wrote about the Iranian drone that killed six Americans in Kuwait at the start of the U.S.-Iran war. @SeanParnellASW disputed the reporting. He said it was a "secured facility" because it had 6-foot walls, soldiers on the ground disagreed.

This is a good place to note that neither party -- not Trump's GOP and certainly not the Democrats -- are talking about reducing the power, reach, control, and even ownership of government over individuals, businesses, the economy. It's still statism run amok.

This should be one of the biggest stories of the moment. When a court blocks the Trump admin from deporting migrants to dangerous home countries, the government is sending them to 3rd countries with zero ties—who then send them straight to where they were fleeing. Lawless.
Within five days of being deported from the U.S., Moussa Diawara says Ghanaian officials forced him onto a flight to Mali, the very country a U.S. immigration judge ruled he could not be deported to. Diawara says he was homeless and went into hiding.

Ukraine attacks Russian civilian infrastructure in ways to make life inconvenient to make the war real for everyday Russians.
Russia targets and intentionally kills Ukrainian civilians.
Why is it important to close down Moscow airports?
Because it has a huge impact on Russian economy and logistics.
The Moscow Aviation Hub is essentially a bottleneck for Russian logistics. Whenever its work is disrupted, it creates a cascading effect on the Russian logistics as a whole.
Moscow is the central hub for the Russian domestic and international air traffic. When the Moscow airports (Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Zhukovsky airports) close down, this disrupts connectivity across all of Russia, and matters are further complicated by the fact that Russia has 11 time zones. Russian aviation is heavily centralized, and due to the cize of the country, aviation is the only viable transportation means for long-distance travel in Russia, cargo transportation included.
When flights are delayed and/or canceled, the ripple effect is felt all across Russia. The Russian state is forced to install air defense systems in the area, taking them from the front lines and military infrastructure inside Russia. Russian airlines bear additional costs of using more jet fuel, added handling fees at alternate destinations and paying compensations to passengers for the delays.
Flights that cannot arrive in Moscow airports are diverted to other airports which creates a strain on the ground infrastructure and fuel resources of those alternative airports.
Russian airlines and planes already work under severe Western sanctions that complicate obtaining spare parts and performing maintenance. There have been reports that about 20% of the Russian airfleet failed to return to active service due to needing maintenance. For large airlines, these figures can reach up to 30%. This also means that the remaining 70/80% of the planes are working more which leads to more vulnerability.
In addition to all the direct and indirect costs of closing down the Russian airports, there is also a moral impact. The Kremlin largely prefers to "insulate" large cities (starting with Moscow and St Petersburg) from the war, creating the illusion of normalcy and "business as usual." When passengers cannot leave on their flights for hours and businesses suffer from logistics disruptions, it serves as a loud reminder about the war to those Russian priviliged enough to ignore it otherwise.
