We have an important opportunity for activism right now. Trump has asked Congress to approve a rescissions bill. It would retroactively approve DOGE's destruction of international aid in February and a recent decision to stop funding public radio and television.

I joined my colleagues in the Circle of Protection in urging Senators to reject the reconciliation bill unless it protects people who are poor and vulnerable. The bill, as written, fails the test of compassion.

Mass attendance has dropped among all Catholics.
But what is noteworthy to me is that the biggest drop is among Catholics who say that they believe in God without a doubt.
50% were weekly attenders in 1988.
In 2022, it had declined to 33%
