I think there is a hard reality that most people find difficult to accept, that your options in life are heavily constrained by the circumstances of your birth. So, basically, people born into the poverty and dysfunction must spend their lives to overcome their poverty and dysfunction and will very seldom have time or capacity for any other concerns. And vice versa, people born over a certain threshold just have considerably more freedom - for anything It is how it is
Cuomo and Mamdani are obviously both from very privileged, in different ways, families. I don't think most people really care or consider it a "gotcha" if someone advocating for populist economic policies is not a peasant.

This got muted attention given all the other gaming news, but I’m very happy to see Neverwinter Nights 2 revitalized. The campaign is quite good and the writing in the Mask of the Betrayer expansion is superlative. Its story is one of D&D’s best; comparable to Planescape Torment. The Zehir expansion offers a D&D sandbox that also gets bonus marks from me for its rare inclusion of dinosaurs in a D&D game (something I had yearned for since the original AD&D Monster Manual teased me with them). The graphical enhancements don’t look that meaningful from this trailer though: youtu.be/1fbxALjYDDA?si=I6nd…

I haven't had the chance to crack open my copy of Abundance yet so I've been avoiding wading into the discourse. But a thing I believe fervently is that the natural human desire for our lives, our neighborhoods, our communities and our world to be good, combined with the absurd material prosperity that we enjoy in the world today and the even more absurd material prosperity that our work can ensure is available to our children, ought to be sufficient for high and rising standards of living. We are rich enough to have spacious beautiful homes in shaded, safe neighborhoods with good schools and good jobs. We are rich enough for that to be in reach for every American who puts in the work to pursue it, and for it to be available to a growing share of the globe as well. And we don't have it. And part of why we don't have it is because we have made it incredibly difficult and frustrating and prohibitive to build it.

I love my country with all my heart and I've never been more embarrassed for America than the spectacle I just witnessed in the Oval Office. Zelensky is fighting for the survival of his country, his people and their democracy. Trump and Vance appear to be completely aligned with Putin, the invader whose aim has been to conquer Ukraine. Zelensky should know that millions and millions of Americans still stand with him and his valiant people.

I'd be excited about this, but I never even played the first one. I only tried it briefly for like 80 hours. youtube.com/watch?v=x5rvxUoY…

UFO 50 is a staggering game. I honestly don't even know where to begin. They made 50 individual games and presented them so well it's just mind blowing. If you like retro games it's an auto-buy. If you just like gaming it's an auto-buy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Recommended to everyone. store.steampowered.com/app/1… There is so much to play and discover here it's insane. So many games across so many genres. Some games pick up and play and some are hours long. What? Really? Insane depth and reliability. You can play this game for a year, easily. Seems an ideal game for parents to play with their kids too. Or a spouse, partner, friend, dog or cat. I don't know how you review it other than to say "go buy it now". #steam #pcgaming #steamgames #UFO50
