Another Kagan book finished. A thought provoking journey through the methodological, conceptual and theoretical shortcomings of psychology, largely due to a failure to consider the contextual impacts of time and place. Measured and well evidenced as with all Kagan’s work.

However, Kagan’s critique is intended to spur action to redress any disciplinary shortcomings and he makes some suggestions about how to achieve this.

Critical Mass is an interesting book that requires a committed read, but rewards the investment of effort. It looks at the application of concepts from physics to the emergence of patterns in complex large scale social phenomena. Niche, but fascinating. #bookreview

Completed 'Determined' by Robert Sapolsky on audiobook. Key argument: There is no free will; everything about human behaviour is casually determined, albeit in a complex way. It's both fascinating & unsettling; I'm still pondering its implications. Worth a read to be challenged.
