I love Bitcoin Sneakers
Thanks to @BitcoinSneakers for this lovely 👟
Issue resolved ✅
Big thanks to @cavpatrol from Magic Eden who worked alongside engineers to come up with a solution.
It turns out the bug was related to an older version of Magic Eden wallet and likely caused by the use of an unsupported wallet (Ordinals Wallet).
The fix: I installed an older ME wallet extension, imported the seed phrase, and voila - the BTC was there!
Thanks again to @MagicEden for the support. Breathing a sigh of relief 😮💨
Now time to turn my attention to $ME
PSA: users of @MagicEdenWallet 📢
I was one of the early adopters of @MagicEden wallet. I loved that it was multi-chain which allowed me to easily organize @BitcoinSneakers and take payments in btc, eth, and sol.
I imported an old @ordinalswallet recovery phrase and then created a new account to use exclusively for sneaker sales.
At the time, I thought it was strange that ME wallet gave me only one btc address since it was also an ordinals wallet. But I tested it for payments and everything worked great for a few months.
Then one day my btc vanished and the one address was replaced by 2 new addresses (1 segwit and 1 taproot). My Eth and Sol wallets remained unchanged.
I can’t recall if this happened after an update or if it was when I tried importing the recovery phrase into my ME mobile app. Regardless, I no longer had access to the btc in my wallet 😩
Here’s what you can do 👉 Check your ME wallet to make sure you have 2 Bitcoin addresses: Segwit (bc1q..) & Taproot (bc1p..). If you’re only seeing 1 address then transfer your assets to a new wallet asap
Thankfully, I had already withdrawn a lot of the funds to pay for our next batch of sneakers - so this had no impact on production, but there’s still enough btc in there to make me anxious.
I’m hopeful Magic Eden will find a solution for me and any others who might be affected 🙏 @0xAlexander @SirGnarlGnomie @vohvohh @0xLeoInRio @sidazhang @linuschung @bigmikey @jgao @MakeTokensFun @aNFTlegend @jasminexu
