The video below is being circulated by accounts affiliated with the Israeli occupation and hostile to the Palestinian struggle, attempting to incite hatred against Palestinians and distort their image. The current security situation in Gaza makes it virtually impossible for resistance fighters to appear openly carrying weapons, masked or unmasked. Israel dominates Gaza’s skies and seizes every opportunity to target them. Palestinian factions also generally prohibit their members from firing weapons at funerals. The footage shows the funeral of a Palestinian from the Al-Ar’ir family, a prominent family in Gaza City’s Shuja’iyya neighborhood. Many relatives attended, expressing outrage over repeated brutal attacks against family members. The turnout also appears intended to send a message to another family, whose member the Al-Ar’ir family accuses of inciting against the deceased. They had previously demanded that his relatives withdraw their protection from him.
