I’m still on a semi-hiatus from voiceover work, but I currently have at least one employer who has tasked me with a job. Thank you for your patience and understanding, I’ll be sure to have the work done ASAP.

Clayface is proof that some of Batman’s most tragic villains are the ones you almost feel sorry for. 💔 In Batman: The Animated Series, Matt Hagen’s story in the two-part episode “Feat of Clay” is genuinely heartbreaking. Before becoming the monstrous shape-shifter known as Clayface, Hagen was a successful actor whose appearance was central to his career. After an accident leaves his face disfigured, he becomes dependent on a dangerous experimental substance that allows him to maintain his looks. But the temporary solution comes at a horrifying cost. His body begins to transform into something he can barely control, and the man who once made a living pretending to be someone else gradually loses control over his own identity. That’s what makes this version of Clayface so disturbing. He can imitate practically anyone, change his face at will, and become almost anything — yet he can’t simply return to being himself. The scene where his body starts warping uncontrollably isn’t just a frightening display of his powers. It’s a man desperately trying to hold on to the last pieces of his humanity.#Clayface

🍂 Beautiful fall walk along New York City’s High Line tonight. Once an elevated freight railroad built in the 1930s, it’s now a 1.45-mile park above Manhattan’s west side. Fall foliage, architecture, and Hudson River views. Have you walked the whole thing? – at New York, NY

This is so heartbreaking. 💔 Eric Bauza, the brilliant voice actor who carried the torch of animation history as the modern voice of our most beloved childhood icons has passed away at the age of 46. RIP, Eric, thank you for keeping the magic alive.

This was not the directive of Disney Publishing at the time… but we had an exceptional contact there who liked that we swung for the fences. I encountered far more resistance from Boom management itself, who had a “It’s good enough for who it’s for” mentality. I was told at one point that it didn’t matter what was in the books… they’d sell because they were Disney/Pixar. (My disagreement with this philosophy is part of why I was let go, I’m sure.) What I tried to do as editor of that line was pair the properties with talented people that loved them, and wanted to deliver the best for the fans, because they were fans themselves. I had a lot of respect for what Lassiter had done with Pixar and wanted to hit the same tone with each book having something parents could enjoy and resonate with, while also entertaining the kids. And that’s what I aimed for with Darkwing Duck; something that grew up a bit with the kids who watched it originally, but still appropriate for them to share with their own children. Also… I can’t wait to see WILDWOOD.
Replying to @Aaron_Sparrow
@Aaron_Sparrow, @SilvaniArt, is this what you were trying to accomplish with the Darkwing Duck comics you guys published back in the days, taking a stand against “playing it safe” and taking the necessary risks to make them a major hit? If so… (1/2)
