A car carrying three teenage girls plunged into a river in Mississippi. Within moments, the car was sinking with all three girls trapped in the water and screaming for help. Sixteen-year-old Corion Evans saw what was happening, kicked off his shoes and jumped in. He reached the girls and began getting them back to shore one at a time, swimming one girl to safety before turning around and going back into the river for the next. After the third girl was safe, it looked like the rescue was finally over. Then Corion heard someone else calling for help. A police officer who had entered the water to assist was now struggling himself and beginning to drown. So after already rescuing three people, Corion turned around and swam back out again. He reached the officer and helped bring him safely back to shore too. By the time Corion finally came out of the water, this 16-year-old had helped save four lives in a single day. Now THAT is the kind of young hero I want to hear about.

Devastated to hear of the passing of Chris Spatola. Chris was a great coach, broadcaster and an even better person. I’m grateful for the time we shared at Duke and the impact he had on so many people. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

A follow-up from our conversation with Coach K yesterday morning. It wasn’t until yesterday evening we learned that Coach K lost his son-in-law unexpectedly the night before. Chris Spatola was married to Coach K’s daughter, Jamie, and they have three children. He was only 47. Chris also attended West Point, served in combat in the Army in the Middle East, was an assistant coach for Coach K for a number of years and most recently an ESPN analyst. Coach K kept his commitment to do the interview yesterday, and we had no idea of the family circumstances and pain he was going through. Last night, after hearing the news, we reached out to Duke and offered our condolences to Mike’s family and to the Duke family, but also to extend our surprise and thanks for the interview. They said this is just how Mike is, he honors his commitments. A class act, and hopefully the discussion of McGuire provided a gentle distraction from the terrible news his family received in the last few days. Please keep Coach K’s family in mind during this difficult time. RIP Chris sports.yahoo.com/mens-colleg… via @YahooSports

I'm amazed(not really)that a hospital would offer a turkey sandwich on white bread with processed turkey as a healthy option. The expiration date on the sandwich was 12/22/25. Today is December 15. – at Thiensville, WI

This is not financial advice. Trend days have been correlated with my Dr. Appointments and Hospital stays. Admitted yesterday going home today. No trading because the Wi-Fi isn't reliable. There's always another trade.💰💰 – at Milwaukee, WI

I enter the operating room today, and one of the medical staff says "aren't you the basketball coach?" We had a nice chat. No autographs...haha. Procedure went well. #basketball #KindnessMatters #coachesmatter @PaulBiancardi @_Coach_Thompson – at Milwaukee, WI
