DC Fire and EMS, serving goes beyond emergencies. Lt. Briana Johnson brought a Lil' Free Library to Engine Co. 14, offering neighborhood children free books and school supplies. A small gesture making a BIG impact and inspiring the next generation!

Cooling temperatures are a good reminder to start planning for winter weather - with your household and with your neighbors.
Get to know the people on your block and check in with each other before and during cold or snowy conditions. Sharing supplies like sidewalk salt and shovels, or lending a hand to neighbors who may need extra support, all adds up.
A more prepared city is built block by block, and it starts with looking out for one another.
