🍊Food Waste Collection Program Participants 🍊 Please secure food waste bins & make note of your bin ID # should your bin go missing. Residents with Tuesday collection are encouraged to wait until tomorrow morning to set out their bin.
With severe weather expected later today, DPW crews are preparing for potential storm debris and roadway impacts. Loose items like trash cans and outdoor equipment should be tied down, secured, or moved indoors to prevent them from blocking streets and collection routes.

As winter weather is expected this weekend, the District Snow Team is preparing to pre-treat streets and support safe travel citywide. To make that happen, DPW will temporarily shift crews and equipment from leaf collection to snow operations. Here’s what residents need to know: • Section C: Leaf collection will resume as soon as conditions safely allow. • Section D: Your first pass is now scheduled to begin Mon, Dec 22. Please place leaves at the tree box or curb by Sun, Dec 21. For updates, visit dpw.dc.gov/leaf or call 202-671-LEAF (5323).
