now i'm on the other stupid site that looks almost exactly like this one and has 18 months max before it gets enshittified. bsky : de-lab
Very cool to get a paper out with Joe Francisco, who has been a steady and upbeat mentor for almost my entire career.

why would you ever need AI music when it'll take you the rest of your life to listen to this?

Been feeling like crap physically, mentally, emotionally, professionally, socially, and artistically since the semester started. I think there's a word for that?
If I could time travel, I would go to the Ram sessions and tell Paul McCartney "bro, Monkberry Moon Delight is a terrible song."
The last business day before my sabbatical ends and the semester begins, and in six hours I say goodbye to the goofiest, softest friend I've ever had. Her lymphoma has spread to intestines and colon and things would start getting real bad for her. Mango, I will love you forever
"Matteo Mancuso's Fingerstyle Solo Divides Guitar Fans on Skill vs. Soul" because it exhibited neither?
Abstract submission deadline for SERMACS2026 in Memphis has been extended to next Monday morning (August 10th). The registration portal is set to open in the next 24 hours too. It will be great to see you there!

I used to think the Undo behavior of early 00s versions of Mathematica was the stupidest fucking UI behavior in the history of computers, but it has been surpassed by what Oracle Fusion does when you click the browser Back button. SO. STUPID. #oracle
What I hope will become my most cited paper is finally published online at WIREs Computational Molecular Sciences!! From our "Software Focus" paper on RINRUS, check out how you can use our software to make reproducible and predictable QM-cluster models to study enzymes!
doi.org/10.1002/wcms.70078
We didn't get to be the first QM-cluster model design software to hit the literature, but I think ours solves some problems that have not been recognized by our competitors, and it has by far the largest feature set!
Your music tastes freeze after you turn 25? The discourse on this site is so dumb. After DJing at college radio stations in my 20s, I got into Dylan and Grateful Dead in my 30s; Dennis Bovell, The Damned, Taylor Swift in my 40s. Keep your ears and your mind open losers
I wonder if @mattdinniman is a fan of Eddy Current Suppression Ring because I feel like #DCC is the literary equivalent of ECSR
Stoked to share the pre-print for our walkthrough and review of applications with RINRUS (residue interaction network residue selector) the Python package my group has been working on for ~10 years to standardize and automate QM-cluster model construction!

Hello #chemtwitter #ACS150 friends! The deadline for volunteering to organize a symposium at #SERMACS2026 is soon. Please msg me or email for details! sermacs2026.org/ "Molecules in Memphis!"
Feel like 2024 was one of the best years of new music since the mid '00s, and then in 2025 there's only been 3 albums that I heard that I'd consider "astonishing" - Rosalia LUX, Pulp More, Clipping Dead Channel Sky Plus. Wack-ass year
