I'm thrilled to share our new preprint highlighting distinct neurocomputational mechanisms underlying how reward and punishment determine adaptive cognitive control - a massive fMRI study and collaborative team effort with the @ShenhavLab 🧠

The most amazing opportunity! Highly recommend!
🌟 Research Assistant opportunity 🌟
I'm looking for an RA to support research @TheCHBH @UoB_SoP on social information seeking and decision making, including fMRI and MEG 🧠

Finally, @yue_l_zhang @JasonLeng5 @amitaishenhav examine how rewards interact with challenges to impact cognitive control. They find that individuals exert more effort for higher rewards & greater challenge, but lead to divergent affective states (rew>pos, challenge>neg).
It was a privilege and pleasure to work with these colleagues to generate this collection, which I hope will generate new ideas for the next evolution of studies of these interactions.
And, of course, many thanks to @postlelab for helping and make this collection possible!

fMRI network measures are affected by sampling error 🎲, physiological artifacts 💗, arousal 👀, and task state 🎞️. We argue that a major challenge in studies of 🧠network dynamics is distinguishing between these sources of variability.
