- people be bad
- the UK isn’t the US.
Avoids contemplating the need for a radical programme and explains the inevitable lurch to the right as an aberration. What a majority they have though? Wow.

Sheffield United Football Club is shocked and extremely saddened to learn of the passing of former player, George Baldock.
The defender left the club in the summer after seven years at Bramall Lane and was extremely popular with supporters, staff and team-mates who pulled on a red and white shirt alongside him.
The sincere condolences of everyone associated with Sheffield United are extended to George’s family and friends.

There seems to be a reluctance to compliment the narrative that the riots are a consequence of years of anti-immigration and islamaphobic rhetoric *and* austerity and burgeoning inequality. Why is this? 🧵
Starmer and Streeting and co were, as ever, too smug to realise that once the election was won the sole aim should have been to avoid handing the keys to the far right at the next election.
