Stoked for @ployai to be among those names 🙌
"If I think about the tools that have been real game changers in the five years I've done this job, it's @clay , @claudeai , and @ployai." The @clay team is full of my favorite kind of marketers - the ones who love to give new ideas a try. With Ploy, they’re shipping tests 6x faster and launching things previously stuck in their ideas doc. Read the full story in the 🧵

One of my favorite features is how CMD+Tab works!

⌨️ CMD+Tab With ☀️ Sunlight, I wanted to stay true to people's habits. CMD+Tab, F3 for Mission Control— it has it all! When you hit CMD+Tab, the camera pans and zooms to the previous window at 120fps. F3 shows all windows. Just what you're used to.

One more thing: I want to credit @DanFessler for creating Trellis recently and inspiring me to go back to this project and take it seriously. Also major credit to the creator of Yabai for indirectly teaching me all I needed to know about (hacking) window management on macOS.

I’ve been using Sunlight as my daily driver for the last few weeks. I can’t go back to using normal macOS. It’s like a new OS within the OS. I can’t wait to share this experience with you. This idea had been living in my head ever since I got my first Mac in high school.

What a run. Also what a coincidence, @trq212 and @amorriscode at the same time? I don’t like this. 🥲
Yesterday was my last day at Anthropic. I created Claude Code on desktop because I believe everyone can be a builder. Every feature request and bug report we got from this community was a gift that impacted millions of lives. I’m eternally grateful for those gifts, the product wouldn’t be what it is without you. Anthropic is doing some of the most important work of our time. Contributing to that mission will forever be a career highlight for me. I never imagined I’d get to contribute to something so special in my lifetime. Walking away from my best friends, a product I poured my heart into, and the mission was the hardest thing I’ve done in my career. But now I have some free time for GTA VI. I'm already itching to get back to addressing all your feedback. I'll share what's next soon!

I keep coming back to the conclusion that Apple messed up with this thick solid right sidebar in closed mode. It just looks like ass and I don’t get the UX rationale they are making. Floating UI was perfect for this!
design wise i have never been more uninspired by anything apple has released in the last 20 years. it’s not just the 'apps aren’t adapted yet' problem (and the irony is that in most cases the apps that haven’t been adapted look better than the ones that have) or the usual first iteration issues. it’s a series of fundamentally weird design choices that make it impossible to even come up with nice layouts. there are screens where nothing aligns with anything, buttons floating around randomly. forget about symmetry. like, forever. it’s not even a concept anymore. not a single screen on the main display has made me think, 'oh, that looks neat' (or balanced, or at least makes sense from an IA perspective). everything is just...random. but yeah, a nice opening animation (that you barely ever actually see), a cool combo status bar (that most of the time just sits there all alone, taking up 1/5 of the screen’s width), and a nice click when opening or closing it (no comments here, the click is actually nice).

There was a paper that proofed an SVG at the full resolution of a raster image would be just as heavy or heavier. It's information theory, you'd have to make every pixel a square vector shape. At which point it's not scalable anymore as well. It's a fun thought experiment.
I feel like we're looking at something so much BIGGER than just better and more detailed SVGs. SVGs are essentially images made entirely from code. Instead of storing millions of pixels like a PNG or JPEG, it uses math instructions to describe shapes, paths, colors, gradients, etc.... and Quiver is now generating these incredibly detailed illustrations that look almost like polished 3D renders, except they're actually editable vector graphics. But what happens when these models eventually get so good that they can generate SVGs that are indistinguishable from photorealistic images? At that point, why would we need image models at all? and if you can create any image entirely through code, you could theoretically generate every frame in a video in the same way and suddenly, instead of generating a fixed sequence as an mp4, you would be able to generate fully editable programmatic scenes. I don't know what this means for the future, or if it will even work in this way, but holy molly, it's gonna be interesting

These are all SVG! Something really cool is coming to @QuiverAI around icons, asset families, and styles. Reply for early access.

I declined an interview at OpenAI in 2019. I was happy at Webflow and didn’t have enough cycles to interview at the time. To say I still beat my head for it is an understatement.
I interviewed at Figma in 2024, and bombed a middle interview so so so badly. I never got another shot lol. Sometimes you bomb: but I learned a massive amount and rebuilt everything from it. Got a role not to long after.

This!
I encourage designers to get used to running design tasks overnight. Don't let your compute sit idle. Let AI render 50 versions of glass reflections in Blender or run pipelines that create 100s concepts in Figma while you sleep. In the morning, review the results and fine-tune what works best.

Ploy already knows your brand, so it configures every shader to match your look: colors, intensity, and speed for the animated ones. It fits your brand’s vibe out of the box.
