In 2020, Kwara State government under Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak allocated N11.47 billion in education.
In 2021, the government allocated N14 billion towards the education sector.
In 2022, the government allocated N16.8billion for education sector, and claimed to have spent N16.01 billion in 6 months.
More of these billions was allocated in 2023 & 2024.
Considering these huge spendings, one would have expected a decent educational infrastructures and conducive learning environment at all levels in the state. Sadly, the reverse is the obvious case.
Attached is a BBC documentary on the sorry state of a public school in Kwara State - where children are taught under tree. This is a shame!
