Measure the love for your city by the life in its streets. Reclaiming 25% of car space can liberate the walkable, bikable, transit-friendly city we lost between the lanes. Answering the challenge will take leadership and a commitment to putting our streets where our values are.
Today we launch #NYC25x25, a challenge to New York City's next leaders to take back 25% of our street space from cars by 2025.
As we recover from the pandemic, we must create a more equitable, safe, & resilient city for generations to come.

Lovely op-ed by Nicholas Bloom & Rebecca Karp "...with the release of its Connected Communities Guidebook, NYCHA has put forth a compelling roadmap not just for vision but for execution."
OPINION | The rebirth NYCHA needs now
The Guidebook addresses two crucial human needs: open space so that people feel safe outside, as well as spaces where people can feel connected to their community for the sake of social and emotional wellbeing.
