Barry on scouting young talent:
This was taken at a deck hockey game current and former colleagues did after John Saunders passing. Barry with me and my youngest.
“Is he on skates?”
“Not yet”
“Do it. Fat-legged babies make great skaters.”
Devin Cooley is a beaut, and this is why I’ll continue to renew the membership to his fan club.
With a kid who has ADHD and on the spectrum, this all makes so much sense.
BREAKING: Neuroscientists confirm that an under-stimulated ADHD brain will unconsciously pick an argument or poke a sibling just to manufacture a hit of adrenaline—which is why your house erupts into chaos the exact second everyone is bored.
When the external environment goes quiet and flat, an ADHD nervous system scrambles to fill the gap:1/6

If you are a bar -- hotel, dive, high class, any kind of bar -- and a group of people from Milwaukee roll in 30 minutes before closing and you like money, you chug a Red Bull and stay open as late as you physically can because they will make it worth your while financially.
If you were a western Pennsylvanian, you knew what Donnie Iris meant. Lots of stories about his kindness to people. Condolences to his family.

Donnie Iris was a giant. An absolute joy to be friends with. There should be a statue of Donnie erected immediately & put at the Wylie. His talent was only matched by his kindness & he was the best hang you could ever ask for. RIP King Cool you’ll live on forever in Pittsburgh
This is remarkable. Hey @Panger40 ... When Mike Keenan made you build that shooter's profile book, could you have done this with players you scouted?
How about this? How about learning how to hit to the opposite field and being less predictable as a hitter? Can we try that first?

Eddie Murphy says a single encounter with Pauly Shore at the comedy club made him stop taking Percocet forever.
“I turned 30, I smoked weed, and I had one time in my twenties where I went to the dentist and the dentist gave me a Percocet.”
“I remember I was sitting at the dining room table and I said, 'I feel good.' And Fruity, who worked for me, was like, 'Yeah, that's them Percocet, man.' I was like, 'Really?' So I finished that prescription.”
“You know what made me stop taking them? And he don't even know this story. I was at the Comedy Store, and I had taken a Percocet and smoked a joint.”
“Pauly Shore came up to me, who owns the Comedy Store, comedian, and he was like, 'Hey, you don't even look like yourself tonight.' And I was like, 'Really? Who do I look like?' And he said, 'Some other dude.' Walked away, and I was like, 'Yeah, I ain't fucking with this no more.'”
With leaps of logic like this, I really hope these people did track and field.
This lawsuit is absolutely crazy.
The schools that have chosen to be in NCAA Division III subscribe to a philosophy built around "prioritizing the overall educational experience of student-athletes"...where "academics are the primary focus of the student-athlete experience." (NCAA members that want a more athletics-based model can move to Division I or Division II.)
In alignment with that, these member schools have agreed "Division III financial aid is based on need and academic merit rather than athletics ability, reinforcing the division’s commitment to the overall educational experience"...thus no athletics-based scholarships.
It's not price fixing lol. Each school determines what the school costs. It can set tuition at $15,000 per year...or $100,000...or whatever.
Students that *choose to* attend a Division III school make a conscious decision to pay the cost...knowing there are no athletics-based scholarships (but that they can get financial aid based on need and merit...like every other student). Again, the students make the decision to attend...they are not forced to.
Absolutely silly lawsuit.

While at Texas, Steve McMichael filled in at kicker and went 8/10 on extra points and 2/3 on field goals. Then he won a Super Bowl, joined the Four Horsemen, got ejected from Wrigley Field by Angel Hernandez for calling him blind, and made the Hall of Fame. That’s a career.

I’ve never seen a single Fast & Furious movie and I’m as committed to that streak as Cal Ripken was to his.
