Rajdeep was shamelessly defending NewsClick just three days ago, claiming it was falsely targeted.
CNN’s latest report has exposed this :
1. An email trail involving Neville Roy Singham, NewsClick founder Prabir Purkayastha and Vijay Prashad shows links with a network promoting Chinese propaganda.
2. The emails reveal instructions to journalists to portray Arunachal Pradesh as part of China.
3. Attempts to push narratives favourable to the Chinese Communist Party at the expense of India’s national interests.
Yes. Read that again. This is the “small news website“ Rajdeep is defending. And people like him have the audacity to call everyone else “Godi Media”!
I was constrained to remind my fellow anchors today of how a small news website @newsclickin was falsely targeted as ‘foreign funded’ Chinese operation and its editor Prabir Purkayasta wrongly jailed for several months. News channels fell for the falsehood and some actively pushed it. Sorry for the noisy debate but happens once in a while when one is really angry. 🙏 #DemocraticNewsroom

Election Commission of India files counter affidavit in Supreme Court on plea against CEC's functioning; says petition built entirely on a single news report
What ECI says:
Affidavit approved unanimously by all three members: the CEC and both Election Commissioners
All three SIR orders (June 2025, October 2025, May 2026) were unanimous decisions of the Commission
Notes, queries or suggestions by the CEC or ECs while a file moves are not decisions of the Commission
Files go to one EC, then the other EC, then the CEC. In urgent cases, approval is taken electronically and recorded on file later
Any officer issuing orders beyond delegated powers will face action
July 28 work allocation order was issued by an Additional Secretary on deputation. Both ECs wrote to the Cabinet Secretary the next day. The order was never implemented after the ECs' joint direction of July 30
