Excited to announce that my first academic paper has been published in @MicrobioSoc ! In this work, we show the application of a novel reversible fluorescent protein, iFAST, in Candida albicans🦠🔬. You can read the story here: doi.org/10.1099/mic.0.001451. @vandijcklab
With the reversibility of the iFAST protein, a lot of flexibility in terms of spectral and temporal properties can be achieved. Additionally, the reversibility allows researchers to combine iFAST optimally with other FPs or cellar stainings.
With this novel reversible iFAST protein, we localized both Erg11 and Ftr1, while having minimal influence on the growth of the strains. I'm excited to see where our research endeavours take us next. Thanks, @WGenechten and @PatrickDijck for the guidance and expertise!
