It is an honor to represent a community with 4 school districts. It was nostalgic to see my alma mater once again advance to the Section 2 Class B Super Bowl! Especially fun to see another generation of my family tearing up the field. Congratulations, Averill Park! Well done.

Nassau’s fields and forests remain very dry and the fire danger remains high with no precipitation in the forecast until the end of the week. Please use caution. Thank you.

One of the greatest successes of my public service is the engagement of communities in conservation efforts. From the first of its kind Grasslands Conservation Tax Rebate to going from 0 public parks to 7. Together, we are making a difference for generations to come.

EPA provided an update on remediation at the Loeffel Superfund Site. Real progress at the site has come at an environmental cost in others. We have no choice but to call out EPA on their oversight of the polluter’s ongoing illegal discharge of 1,4-dioxane into the Valatie Kill.

It was a packed house in Nassau as the EPA updated residents and officials on remediation efforts at the Dewey Loeffel Superfund Site.

Our thoughts are with the brave men and women on the heights of the Taconic Range again this morning fighting a forest fire. In particular, I’m thinking of our Nassau emergency services partners deployed today. Be safe and thank you. 📸Steve Jackson

Honored to address NYSAC’s 98th Annual Fall Conference in Hershey, PA this week. Connecting with New York’s leading nonprofit executives is a powerful reminder of the incredible service they provide to our communities during their most difficult times.

What an amazing morning with a true American hero. Thank you to Lieutenant Colonel Robert J. Darling USMC (Ret) for your service and reminding us how fortunate we are to be defended by the brave men and women that serve every day.

A cold sunrise on the Rensselaer Plateau. 28 degrees and frosty.

My friend, Mike Melkonian, was an excellent jurist, loving father and husband, and great confidant. He was a kind friend and counsel to me for years. Remembering my talented friend on the anniversary of his passing.

It was a weekend of indescribable fall beauty in Nassau’s hundreds of acres of public conservation areas. The woods are aglow this week as fall moves at an amazing pace. Come explore the gateway to the Rensselaer Plateau this week. You will be glad you did.

We should all note that moose are no longer unusual sightings here on the Rensselaer Plateau, just a short moose trek away to Troy. We have them around my farm consistently. We need a new approach to their sightings and their habitat corridors.
